Breakfast with Tor was a true ritual: nourishing food and stories of Avalon made each morning magical. A beautiful and soulful stay I’ll never forget.

Julie and Tor were lovely hosts, and I felt welcome in their home. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious, and the room was simple, nicely decorated and comfortable like the rest of the property. The BnB is in a great location being only a short walk into town. The hosts left easy to follow instructions and the showers and other facilities worked well and a wonderful respite for the hot weather. I forgot to mention before I left that the window needed fixing to open all the way, as it wouldn't stay up without something wedged to keep it open and let air in. I was staying over the heatwave weekend though, so it's not a big deal for 90% of the time and the hosts can't control the weather.

Nothing really. I enjoyed my stay

The bedroom was ok, although my head was near a window - and the bed had no head board. They did offer me breakfast, but I really didn’t want to stay there, so went into town.

The property was hard to find, because I was looking for a B&B and found myself staying in someone’s converted home. Nothing like the picture you can see (that is their back garden). It was cramped and I am size 8 for context. The bathrooms were not pleasant, one was their family bathroom and the upstairs one wasn’t big enough. I couldn’t wait to get out if I am honest.

    Property response:

Most BnBs in the UK are also people’s homes. The front of the house is in the garden. It’s sad you didn’t have breakfast you might have had a much better experience.

The room was comfortable, beds and linen clean the breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked in cosy warm kitchen, the hosts very nice and friendly.

The whole place could do with a good clean. Bathroom facilities very basic and again would be much improved by good clean.

The place is a historical building less than 5min from High Street, in a very calm and quiet street, and has a lovely garden. The owners are incredibly kind and attentive, and they have two adorable dogs. Delicious homemade breakfast with freshly ground coffee, a warm shower, fresh linen and towels, a very comfortable bed... Essentially, everything you need. The whole place has a very good vibe, I felt welcome, restored, and I'm certainly coming back next time I'm in Glastonbury.

These are not negative points, but just a thing or two to be mindful of when booking: it is a historical building, so expect a bit of noise from the wooden staircase or the pipes. Because of the garden, you might find a couple of spiders on your bedroom ceiling or windowpane, but nothing that will disrupt your experience.
