Usually love it but room had broken legs on a chair , hairs on another chair and chairs at a table with a lot of dust which we cleaned ourselves..

Nothing really, except the lack of a shower, only a bath, which was weird when you emptied the water there was water trapped between the lamination of the plastic.

The WiFi signal is very weak in the Macdonald Room. I sat on the floor right next to the room door to get any kind of signal. Or there's a seat on the stairs landing one floor below if you are desperate for a stronger WiFi signal.

Lovely hotel that sits on a small hill overlooking Portpatrick. Has a great view of the surrounding area. Friendly staff and a nice outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel for when the weather is nice. Stayed in the Macdonald Room. A large room on the top floor with far reaching views of the sea, Portpatrick harbour and views all the way to Northern Ireland. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room as well as a small fridge. Ideally placed cushioned window seat to watch the World go by.

It was quite warm and no fan was provided in the room. We opened windows but it was quite noisy outside so we had to close them. There was loud music from the town that we could hear even with the windows closed.

Car parking is not great unless there's a space outside the front when you arrive. Those with limited mobility may find it challenging - there's no lift and it's a steep climb back up the hill if you've been exploring the harbour and village. A little overpriced.

Good location for visiting Portpatrick. Comfortable accommodation.

The room we had only had a window in the bathroom which made it very warm in the summer heat.

The room was tired main feature the seaview and the window was filthy ripped wallpaper in the bathroom toilet seat wonky not quite 4* and no shower only the one on the bath which leaked and no where in the bathroom to put your toiletries.

The bathroom. It badly needs upgraded. The toilet seat was broken and left at the side. An old style bath was in the centre of the room. A shower attached to the bath taps. I couldn’t get in it as I’m small in height. There was a cheap half window curtain.

Portpatrick is a village worth visiting. The hotel had a nice location with great view. In the restaurant we had the best sea food platter ever!

Bed mattress was not high quality. Could have been comfier.

Breakfast food was fine, but the fact that it was only served during one hour was a bit restrictive as I was competing in a major nearby sporting event.

Room was in the attic of the hotel up 36 stairs. So not suitable if you have mobility issues. (McDonald room )The room was very hot, no fans were provided. ( we did ask but they do not supply) No bedside lamps, just the ceiling lights.

Our room had a lovely roll top bath with only a handheld shower attached to it. We would have preferred a walk in shower due to slight mobility issues. We Also it would be better not to advertise the room as having a side view of the sea as it’s not worth paying more for this room’s view.
