The bed was two beds put together, lack of plugs near bed to charge phone ect, while the food was decent, the dinner was a buffet, very limited choice, the decor is a bit dated, the finish of the decor was poor as well, eg wood, plugs ect painted when the wall has been done.

Nothing really , I should have booked a room with a king size bed !

Location great , parking behind hotel , 10 -15 minute walk into town. Buffet breakfast, hot and cold items . We had dinner one night in the hotel , the mussels and frites were excellent. We enjoyed the swimming pool after a day of sightseeing and walking. Our room had a sea view and a bath, we both love a soak in the tub !

The room service was poor he Changed the towel but left the bin bag and did not leave any toilet rolls.

The hotel is nice but staff did not communicate even a simple hello etc.

Less to our taste was the large dining room and bar area - we prefer the cosy corners with a more intimate feel - the ones at the hotel were too open and without the atmospere we prefer. I completely appreciate this is a personal preference - however, did mean we didn't stay to eat in the restaurant which felt quite large and empty. We also found booking directly through the main company a little frustrating as each time we called they quoted a different price and kept promising to call back and did not. I don't think this was the hotel reception, but a ntral reservation team. We ended up booking through booking.com as it was simpler and clear what we were paying for.

Great location to walk into town, yet be slightly away so less noisy. Large hotel with lots of lovely staff. The building outside is impressive. There is some onsite parking too - though is first come first served. We only used it as a stay overnight as we passed through Oban and it suited our needs. We did not eat in, though they did provide a buffet syle breakfast for those who wanted it. Lots of options nearby for food and things to see and do. Great location for catching the ferry to the islands.

As above but most important was the location of the family room as there was no access to a view.

The hotel was well located, decorated to a good standard and clean. Staff were very helpful, particularly in the dining room. Breakfast was a bit early and restricted in terms of time but was of a very good standard. The evening meal was limited in choice.

It’s very tired looking could do with a makeover.

Hotel is great location. It’s very tired looking could do with a makeover, we were upgraded which was amazing we have never had that before however the room was tired/dirty. Dust on the wall paper look-warm shower mattress needs up graded great big room great views just needs modernised.

We had to ask at reception twice for extra milk hours apart. Room wasn't serviced till after 4pm when we got milk and clean towels....

There were five of us and I would of liked to be closer to the other room. The double room was very small, and quite hot. I would have liked a little bar fridge as I carry medication required to be refrigerated. Staff had to do this for me. Over all it was very clean.

The location was excellent, and the staff were polite and friendly.

The restaurant food could have been better although we still enjoyed ourselves and finished the plates. The shipping container and seats looked very untidy placed in the middle of the car park but it didn’t affect us.

All of the breakfast was incredible especially the mushrooms and bacon. Even though the outside of our back rooms looked a bit worn, the rooms were very spacious and had everything of what was needed for 5 nights. The pool was at the right temperature and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very polite and friendly.

They have a laundry service. So I brought my laundry in and they returned it to me unfolded smashed into plastic bags. There is something wrong with that which speaks to something much bigger. On what planet is it OK to return someone's laundry stuff unfolded into bags so that when you take it out, it's ruined ? Staff was friendly except the front desk . I did read about that in other reviews, but didn't think that it would apply to me.

Bathroom shower was not much more than a dribble. Although the staff were all polite and helpful there was not enough. One person covering reception and the bar was not good and although the breakfast was ok there was nobody to direct guests so was a bit shambolic. Restaurant evening meal was a bit bland in both flavour and choice

Our room overlooked a huge extractor fan which did not make for a pleasant environment and in addition the room was quite dark. All standard rooms apparently look over the side or back of the building and if staying again I would definitely pay for a better room. I did not succeed in connecting to wifi.

The hotel is in a wonderful location with great views over Oban Bay. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful room. The food was replenished several times when we were there and was well cooked and of good quality. We were blessed with wonderful weather and the outdoor bar seating area was a great place to watch the world go by on the promenade. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. Beds were comfortable.

The location was spot on , we stayed in the family motel like rooms at the back of the hotel , for us it was excellent for the wee one to run about and go from room to room great idea , the hotel had a swimming pool and sauna , as a family we made great use of the facilities. Great hotel , definitely recommend
