No lift, we had to carry our bags upstairs which was quite challenging. Food options are very limited and you cannot use Uber eat because its far from restaurants.

Nice staff, good location hence it's close to attractions and the lake, and clean rooms.

The carpets need changing or at least thorough cleaning as they are way too dirty. The toilet flush didn’t work and tiles in a bathroom were cracked. Also there are swimming lessons in afternoon which was very disappointing as after all day you just want to relax in a pool or jacuzzi without being splashed water on or too much noise. Hotel should put this information on the page

The location of hotel is great. Staff were nice apart from older lady at the breakfast and a young receptionist who couldn’t fake her smile any more if she tried.

    Good location for south lakes.

Our room overlooked the lovely gardens (great setting for wedding pictures), but noise from kitchen extractor fans meant we couldn't open our bedroom window during hot weather (old hotel so no aircon). This would only be an issue for a small number of rooms though.

Good location for south lakes, Windermere, Hawkshead, etc. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable - double bed larger than expected! Food very nicely presented - choice to eat either in dining room or bar. Good breakfast. Lovely garden. An old hotel, but nice atmosphere.

Noisy traffic from main road as our window was close to it, dusty room not cleaned properly and bed very poorly made on day 2 , uncomfortable and too soft bed, no air- con, very limited breakfast options with no continental choices of cheese or meat etc and no croissants. The worst thing was the shampoo and body wash which was so watered down l, it was impossible to get a lather. Very limited outdoor seating with any comfort or cushions- Such a shame because the grounds were lovely. Overall though we had a good weekend but simple improvements would make such a difference. Also no sun parasols for very hot weather.

Friendly, homely, good food, big room, renovated bathroom, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, especially Scott who served food. Property had character. We were in a separate building which I had no fore knowledge about until we arrived. However it was large and mainly comfortable.

Newby Bridge Hotel is unpretentious and better for it. The bar was like a bar, the lounge was like a lounge, the restaurant served good food; our rooms were spacious and comfy; the swimming pool was a luxury. The staff when we stayed were friendly, helpful and always found time for us even though they were busy. You have to cross the road carefully to get to the river and the foot of Windermere, but once there a whole network of quiet and rewarding paths opens up, towards Windermere and up to High Dam and over to Rutland. There are buses, too, and it is an easy drive to Ulverston and Birkrigg Common.

The only thing that we were disappointed with is the fact that the sauna was not working.

Breakfast was very good. Lots of choices with hot buffet, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals. Good hot coffee and choice of teas. Sunday lunch was very good with a good sized portion. There is a small swimming pool which we used twice. The jacuzzi was lovely and warm. Very soothing following our long bike ride in the nearby Grizdale Forrest. We chose this hotel due to it’s location and nearness to the Forrest.

Very hot weather when we stayed, so our room got very hot. Maybe fans could be supplied in the rooms? Also maybe hotel sign off the main road (from both directions) could be clearer / bigger?

A great hotel in a very convenient location. The staff were all so friendly, efficient & helpful, especially Sylvia on Reception. Our room overlooking the pretty grounds was very good. Beds comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent, with good choice & poached eggs cooked to order if requested. Evening meals in the dining room were a very pleasant experience. The small swimming pool was a real bonus.

We took our two cockerpoos with us, both don’t shed so no dog hair to clean up. I always cleaned their paws before going into the room. We took a spare sheet with us to cover the bed (which we forgot to bring back with us) in case they jumped up. The dogs left no signs of being there, but at £15 per night, per dog, it cost us £90 for a 3 night stay!!! Won’t be going back for that reason!

The hotel is lovely, the staff are amazingly helpful and courteous. Food is great. It’s clean and the grounds are amazing. I would highly recommend, unless you have dogs!!

Narrow hallway and no lift so difficult to get the pram to the room. Building dated and could do with a lick of paint and on the windows. Rooms very hot, could have done with a fan.

Great location, really helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Nice rooms. Free parking.
