How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Verified reviewExcellent location in close walking distance from Cardiff Central station and the centre of town. Food market just outside the property on the day we visited. Lots of space, and particularly liked the lounge area. We were a group of 3, and this is definitely big enough for 5! Well-priced and attentive host.
The only thing I would note is the beds are a little hard / squeaky

Verified reviewHad a pleasant stay in Nick’s apartment! He’s been an amazing host! We had make a last second reservation at nearly 8 pm. Nick gave us a warm welcome and met us at the apartment less than 5 minutes after! We just needed a place to stay for the night. We had a good rest. The apartment is right in front of the stadium with a good view. Around 8 minutes walking to the castle and some great Welsh cakes shops 😋
Few noises coming from the neighbours upstairs until 1am. There is a £200 upfront refundable deposit for damages. I was worried at first but Nick has been very fast on giving the money back (next day). This isn’t really a negative aspect but it surprised me at first as I had never had to pay a deposit.

Great to have lots of beds ,( our apartment had 5) as being a family with a teenage boy and girl, so many places only offer double beds and a small settee. Kitchen well equipped. Deposit was also refunded very fast!! Great communication from the owners. Pay to park opposite the apartment. Download the parking app and you can make sure it's taken care of without leaving the apartment. You can pay for the next day for a few hours the day before, then pay again when you return. Saves worrying about oversleeping and running over the road by 8 am when the tariff starts😁 .Free after 6. The apartment offers great value for money for families.

Verified reviewThe communication from Nick was fabulous from start to finish, with tips on where to go and what to do. The apartment itself is a couple of minutes walk from Cardiff Central and Central shopping areas so idea base for a visit. The apartment was clean, well equipped and very roomy .

Parking was poor. There was no free parking onsite, and the offsite parking advised by the host was full, so did not get parked until 4 hours after arrival. While driving around trying to find alternatives in an unfamiliar town we ended up getting a PCN. Kitchen items and beds were not all clean. Found used chewing gum on kitchen counter.
Hi Neil, my sincere apolgies regarding the issues with cleanliness- rest assurred this has been robustly discussed with the cleaning team to try and minimise any repeats in the future. Obviously we always strive to ensure our apartments are cleaned to a high standard but alas issues do sometimes occurr and if brought to our attention - at the time - we always do our utmost to resolve them at the earliest opportunity! Regarding parking, obvioulsy there is meter parking directly opposite the apartments - free from 6pm to 8am - and the local free parking (very rare in a City Centre) usually has spaces but unfortunately as it turned out, not at the specific time you went but as stated on the day nearly always around 5pm and first thing in the morning. You did actually find parking shortly after arriving on the day - presumably on a meter - and then went back to the free parking around 5pm and parked for the duration. To clarify you were not driving around for 4 hours looking, rather you decided to go back to the free parking 4 hours later to park rather than stay on a meter at circa £8 per day. Regarding the PCN - it seems that this was not a parking fine as you state you were driving around - but either way, I am sorry that this occurred and obviously it takes the edge of your stay. Verified reviewWe had 2 of the flats rented and they were excellent. Nick was easy to communicate with throughout, and the location of these flats is outstanding! It meant that our large group all had freedom to come and go from central Cardiff throughout the weekend with no isssues
