Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing to be done but you can hear the A35 way in the distance.
The Shepherds hut is decorated with care and attention and is a very comfortable place to stay in the summer. The surrounding woodland and walks are delightful. It felt very safe, despite standing alone. Maybe as the other hut isn’t far through the woods.

United KingdomThe frig was a bit of an issue for my back as it was very low .... and opened the opposite way to the cupboard, making it a bit twisty. Could the direction frig door be swapped perhaps? And I don't think deck chairs are 'sun loungers'! Otherwise ... everything was PERFECT!!!! THANKYOU!!! XXXX
The Peace and tranquility! The beautifully kept hut with its creative appeal! Listening to the birds The barbq and fire pit The shower Just being in it!!!

United KingdomI stayed in the hazel hut. Everything about the hut and the site has been set up for a wonderful stay. It's comfortable, secluded and has everything needed for a short stay. The woods around the hut are picture perfect and it is well worth following the footpath mown to the stream. I enjoyed all aspects of my stay. Fossil hunting on local beaches, visiting stunning hill forts, enjoying the spring flora. On my last evening I lit up the fire pit and watched the sunset before watching the stars come out as owls hunted in the woods around me. If you want to get away from it all and fill your lungs with fresh air I couldn't recommend this enough.

United KingdomBeautifully remote location, the shepherds hut had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Comfortable bed, fridge and the best dawn chorus! Lots of relaxation, sitting in the sun and starry nights. Loved the privacy and no neighbours to worry about. The host supplied tea, coffee and milk which was great, towels and really nice bed linen. Really couldn’t fault anything.

United KingdomThis charming shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and very cosy, with a focus on comfort and functionality. The double bed is comfortable with a wonderful view in the morning. The kitchenette is well-equipped, allowing you to prepare simple meals, and the wood-burner adds a touch of warmth. The scenery and walks were a highlight for us.

Oak shepherds hut had everything I needed. It is gorgeous inside and everything is spotless. The shower was phenomenal, really powerful and plenty of hot water. Lovely little kitchenette, I had eggs Benedict sat on the terrace on my first morning. In nature and just heaven. I was there on the hottest day of the year and John very kindly brought me a fan!

This was the perfect escape, the shepherds hut was lovely, set in a peaceful and private spot but within easy reach of the coast and local amenities. It had everything you needed, it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and cosy. There is a great outdoor space too and the surrounding area is beautiful.

United KingdomThe shower wasn't the best. Due to pressure and a loose fitting.... but that's me desperately trying to find a fault.
Amazing location... lovely walks and very secluded for a relaxing time away!!!. (Almost got a whole private forest to yourself!!). Amazing little hut with a VERY comfortable bed. All the cooking facilities (microwave, electric hob). Lovely little log burner!. i loved the fact it had no WiFi... (but we could get data/internet signal from phone)..
