Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI cooked itself was very nice use outstanding but nothing else to do
Website is not accurate as we were very disappointed that we didn’t experience the full facilities as the restaurant have been closed down and winery was no longer open so all we had was the chalet. I need to update and let people know that’s all been taken away.

United KingdomThe WI-FI was a big disappointment as my family needed to work from home. They had to pay for an office space. Also there could have been black-out curtains on the windows and doors and a blind in the kitchen area window. The phone signal was very very slow too. Such a shame !
The lodge was lovely and the location was very quiet and tranquil. The beds were comfy and it had a well equipped kitchen.

United KingdomThe cooking utensils were very flimsy - difficult to remove cooked items from the pan. The Bistro wasn’t open for the majority of our visit, so unable to comment on its food and beverages.
Really nice lodge with parking in lovely area. Nice outdoor space with the lodge, such as a front verandah and a patio table & BBQ at the side.

United KingdomThe outside of our lodge, could be done up a bit, as it is advertised as Luxury. Shed looked past its best...and seating area, not that inviting. Bathroom window would not open and bath when taking shower kept filling up, not nice...but did not ruin holiday. Also the entrance to the Lodges do not look too good, know it is a vineyard, but a wedding was happening just before we left, and not a nice sight on way down to lodges with crated bottles and bins...do not know how that could be rectified. Second room, small one, is small and not a lot of space for two people to put clothes as no drawers.
The location was lovely. The lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed. Unfortunately, the toilet seat broke, but staff replaced it within a couple of hours.

United KingdomThe shower in the bath. The bath was quite narrow, high sided and very slippy. My brother slipped and was lucky not to have hurt himself.
It is in a lovely location, in a very lovely village, very clean and comfortable. Everything you need is provided.

NetherlandsThe location was empty and dead. We where there alone, other cottages where empty except for 1 or 2 days. This felt not safe. The main reason to book was the active vinyard with bistro was closed! Would not book if I new it on forehand and without facilitiies it is overpriced
The cottage was lovely located in the vinyards and were comfortable

United KingdomThe description on Booking.com is inconsistent with the facts. The area looks abandoned. We did not decide to sleep there because it did not seem safe there, I do not recommend it, the price is very high for a regular lodge without any facilities, and this is not as described, the restaurant is closed permanently, there is nothing there except bad experience .Unfortunately, we lost £500 for 2 days and had to rent a hotel.

United KingdomI don’t know about the other Cabins, but at the Cabin I was staying at the main bedroom is facing the road and anyone can just look into the window, if the curtains aren’t drawn. As the windows aren’t really one way.
The views that you get to see in the early morning when you wake up is unmatched. You can see the sprawling fields of the vineyard and the Facilities that they offer at the stay are amazing and well maintained.

United KingdomThese comments are meant to be helpful rather than critical. We arrived on a Tuesday just before 5pm [early November]. The area of the cafe and entrance was unlit. There was no-one to actually speak to [the Bistro not being open on Mondays and Tuesdays], and the sign for the Lodges was miniscule and without any lighting we had difficulty finding it. However, obviously we did - eventually, but still the lighting down by the lodges was not good either. By the time we went out a little later, lights did automatically come on [we decided the lighting programme hadn't been altered on 29 October]. We received many emails from Old Walls prior to our arrival, all very welcoming. However each one contained so much information that few people I imagine would have had the time or the wish to read. Lastly, a small comment re the bath: a slippery surface with no mat to counteract this, and nothing to hold on to. For some this would have been a concern.
The chalet was spotless and comfortable, and supplied all our needs for our short stay. The heating system worked well - and was pretty instantaneous. The beds were very comfortable and the decor very pleasant throughout.
