We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchard Retreat and would highly recommend it to others.

The sloping ceilings upstairs took some getting used to.

This property was modern, well thought out, well equipped and comfortable. It was a restful place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. We appreciated the welcome package.

The sofa bed which we used for one night only for the grandchildren was dreadful (dirty marks on it and dog haired) the mattress may well have not been there. They would not stay longer than one night as they couldn't sleep. Sad. The upstairs is very nice however if you are over 5FT 7 you will need to duck getting in and out of bed. The mattress is tired and saggy and very uncomfortable ( if you can't sleep the rest is irrelevant!). That said bathroom was large but awkward with slope my husband didn't like where the mirror was for shaving and the bath was tiny considering size of room and the taps tiny and it took an age to fill. The security light from the house next door came on and off a lot and is right facing bedroom window. The ma went to work every day at 6am which woke us and then their dog barking at 6 20am. Not the most relaxing holiday. Whilst most things apart from the 2 sofas we're clean we still would not return as you need to be able to sleep and have a good 6 hours. There was also an awful smell of oil in the downstairs porch way really nasty. Parking is shared with the house next door. Private it sort of is but you can hear people in the garden next door and when they go in and out. So if you want totale privacy remember this

Location is exceptional once past the industrial part. The house is fairly well equipped. Though does lack a cafetiere, which was very frustrating. The setting is beautiful. And orchards look fabulous. House is not 5 stars, it maybe was once. It is really on a 2-person place despite its size, the set up doesn't really pave well as a 4-person unit. Nice walks and nice scenery Crisps , wine, and milk and biscuits provided( we didn't use the wine or milk as have tolerance the Crisps the grandchildren had.
