Breakfast was perfect and staff were very welcoming, accommodating, and super helpful. Room was also excellent with effective air-conditioning which worked well given we stayed across very hot summers days.

    It was just perfect 🙂

Beautiful old building on the outskirts of Ross. Bedroom was really fantastic, old beams and immaculate decor. It had everything you could possibly need and the bed was soooo comfortable. I was there three nights and had a different breakfast each day; full English, an omelette and eggs royale and they were all absolutely delicious. Cereals fruit and yoghurt were also available. But what's really fabulous about here is the lovely Roxy and her other half (behind the scenes didn't meet him). Before I visited i asked them to sort a taxi for me, which they did with aplomb. Upon arrival i was given such a warm welcome by Roxy. The next day I mentioned i was going to catch the bus to Symonds Yat so I could walk back - as her son was working up there Roxy immediately offered me a lift. Nearly back at Ross, I managed to get lost in the woods, having just walked up a ginormous hill!! Found my way back on track but had inadvertently come back down the same side I'd walked up! I rang Roxy and she came and rescued me. That's above and beyond and so so kind. So if you fancy being cossetted in a delightful oasis of calm, with amazing service, come here. Thank you Roxy ❤️

The guest house is situated alongside the A40 but I had a room at the back and traffic noise wasn't an issue. The room and facilities were excellent. The proprietor Roxy was most welcoming and the perfect host. The full English breakfast was delicious and set me up for the day. There is a great pub nearby (the White Lion) and a nice riverside walk into Ross-on-Wye.

Roxy and Matt are excellent hosts and their Guest House is an exceptionally comfortable, clean and very well appointed place. Close to the A40 but definitely not troubled by traffic noise. The location is perfect for The Forest of Dean or onward travel to S Wales or further south. You definitely will not be disappointed.
