We were not fans of the restaurant food for dinner (breakfast was good) - it was ok for our first night there, but we ate out on the other days. I’m not saying we didn’t like the floor of the room (as we found it hilarious) but it seemed uneven - it felt like we’d drunk a few cocktails walking across the bathroom floor (we hadn’t).

Receptionist was helpful and offered help to get things to our room, but there was a lift so we did it ourselves. Room was beautiful - the view from the three large windows was amazing. It helped that the sun was shining on the sea. We could see practically most of Torbay. Bed was comfortable, we slept well. The seating area next to one of the windows was nice. We didn’t expect it but the bed was remade and the room straightened every morning while we were at breakfast. The outside pool was a bonus in the sunshine as was the outdoor bar. We did not use the gym or indoor pool.

This property is secluded, which we loved but if you are wanted to be close to centre I would not stay here as up on a hill. Great if weather lovely but you would need things planned if weather poor. Needs more of an indoor bar area if I had to try to find something I may not have liked.

Beautiful location facing the beach. Very clean. The rooms are lovely and comfy with all amenities needed and a few extra. Food is slightly high in price but is superb and worth it. Outdoor pool is lovely with sunbeds provided. Lovely quiet location.

Breakfast, we arrived at 9.20, hardly any food available. Had to wait as bit by bit it slowly arrived. Everybody asking for plates, butter the basics! Why is £50 authorisation fee still pending payment 4 days after departure.

The second night we were there, did not get any water, the toilet did not have a cleaning brush, the room was disappointing we were on the 2nd floor, I expected a better area when I booked the hotel, they should have said that it was an inland room, didn't get the chance to upgrade as it was busy. I would book again but a better room£439 for 3 days is reasonable but expected a better room. Julie Lomas

No AC, but it is an older building.we slept with the windows open and a fan, so it wasn't too bad.to be honest, the coffee and breakfast was not all that. We ate there once. But there are plenty of places for breakfast. No refrigerator or microwave. And creaky old floors so hard to be quiet.
