Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bit too dark in the yard & outside the Shepherd’s Hut at night - would suggest a permanent bollard light in the parking area, and festoon lights around the banister around the Shepherd’s Hut’s seating area. Just so you can see where you’re walking.
Very clean - very comfortable - fully equipped - peaceful - safe - amazing views. Equestrian Centre on site so horse rides/pony trekking available. Horses beautiful & very well taken care of, managed by the lovely daughter, Isabelle. Fascinating collections of vintage metal signs throughout.

NetherlandsOn arrival we didn't really know very well where to go, and the staff of the equestrian centre didn't really know either. In the end, we figured we should go up to the main house and try and find someone. Not a big issue, but we didn't receive an email where to go for check-in. And a heads-up for people staying here: we couldn't find any plates or cutlery in the communal kitchen or our hut, so not sure where to get them from. Best bring them along 😊
Wonderful little hut with amazing view. We had a very relaxing time. Also close to a number of wonderful walks right out the door, and close to the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Chepstow is recommended. We also loved the dogs, chicken and horses around the farm. Great value for money. We arrived very early after doing a run and were allowed to shower before check-in, which was very much appreciated.

PolandSuperb location, surrounded by the pure nature, horses, birds. Unique accommodation far away from civilization, where you can sleep in the Shepherd's hut with an open wide door looking at horses roaming on the field with sun set in the background.

Incredible location, so peaceful and relaxing watching the swallows flying around with an open fire outside. Short walk to May Hill where you can see views of our beloved Welsh mountains. Hosts were very friendly & accommodating, particularly their little dog Margot who ‘helped’ me cook porridge in the mornings! Beautiful part of the world, would highly recommend the Shepherd’s Hut to anyone.

United KingdomCooking facilities were a little limited, although when the weather is decent there are a number of barbecues dotted around which could be used.
The cabin was on a working farm, an equestrian centre to be specific, and being people that like to be amongst animals this was perfect. The views were spectacular. The cabin, where you sleep, is about 10m from the communal facilities, which were quirky and fun. The "glamping" shower (hot, decent pressure) and toilet were luxurious.

United KingdomNothing! it was exactly as we'd hoped and expected. a perfect little getaway.
such a lovely set-up in a beautiful location. we loved the cosiness of the hut, and the, rustic, highly convivial facilities area, with kitchen, dining area, woodburner and outside seats. Just so lovely and friendly. Our hosts were really delightful, and so welcoming. Don't go there expecting city-style luxury though: this place is extremely well-kept and manager but all about living next to nature and connecting with the quiet.

United KingdomMy husband is 5 ' 10" and the bed was only just long enough. May have been a struggle for anyone taller.
This was just what we needed for a child free weekend away. Absolute heaven! The mattress was comfortable, the decor was lovely and the facilities were thoughtful and clean. You are not confined to the shepard hut. There is a communal bar and facilities area with comfortable sofas and a lovely decking. The hosts are lovely and encourage you to enjoy the grounds including thier forest. We are hoping to return for our anniversary. I came here just for the views but it is so much more.

United KingdomBeing really picky but the hob took an age to heat up and didn't get that hot so cooking took a while. The bed while warm and comfy was a standard double (as advertised) but myself and the wife not being exactly svelte were a little hemmed in. We still slept well though. I'd advise guests to make sure they have all of the food and drink they need before arrival as it's a bit of a trek to the nearest shop.
Location is beautiful, and as horsey folk we were right at home. The communal areas were a blokes man shed heaven. Loads of interesting stuff to look at. The shepherd's hut was very warm / well insulated. No heating required even though our stay was mid April. Shower was lovely and hot! Our puppy was made very welcome.

The Farmers Boy pub at the bottom of the valley served great food. I would love to go back there again. I really re-charged my batteries and felt more relaxed for sure
