Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWe spent two nights in this cozy cottage-style accommodation perfect for two. We found it well-appointed, and had the comfiest reclining sofa! We loved the peaceful views of the water in the distance framed by rolling farmland dotted with grazing cows and sheep - quintessential Skye scenery. Located a short drive to a distillery and some excellent high-end dining experiences nearby. A short drive took us to a nearby town with a large Co-op supermarket that had everything we needed and there's another shop even closer. Be sure to stop by The Misty Bottle, a cute little shop up the road - don't miss it. We met the owner before leaving who was very friendly. Overall we recommend this spot and wouldn't hesitate to return!

AustraliaIt was a little far from some of the popular sights in isle of skye but as long as you don’t mind doing a bit of driving it’s not a big deal.
A lovely little apartment with a beautiful view. The kitchen was very handy and the space was all you need especially as a solo traveller.

United KingdomThe TV didn't work very well via the internet for catch up services, and as mentioned previously the house was on the small side.
The house is in a lovely location with a nice view of the bay. It has everything that is needed for a short stay, though the house is a little bit small. The recliner chairs are a nice comfortable touch. Parking is convenient.

United StatesA lovely view—a hillside of sheep, an old ruin, the local distillery, and the ocean. Keurig was well-stocked with a variety of options. Possibly the best water pressure in a shower I've ever encountered on a trip. Exceptionally pleasant place to return to at night after a day out and about on Skye.

AustraliaNothing, all good.
The unit was very comfortable, clean and fully equipped. It has a separate lounge area and also a small dining area and also a small deck with outdoor table and chairs. It has a good sized fridge and freezer. Loved the coffee machine! The detailed instructions for everything were excellent, best we have ever experienced on our travels. The heated towel rail was convenient. The on site parking is good. The location is on the Sleat Peninsula and a fair way from Portree ( about an hour ) and maybe a bit inconvenient depending on what you are hoping to see on your travels. It worked OK for us , it was very peaceful . We visited the gardens at Armadale ( only a few Kms away and a very pleasant walk) and the beautiful Camasunary Bay walk was not too far. There is a small local shop 5 mins drive away . The northern sites are of course a lot further to get to as opposed to Portree.

United KingdomNothing really - you can hear some traffic from the nearby road but it wasn't a busy road so not an issue.
Lovely well equipped accommodation for two people with pleasant outdoor area, good shower and comfy bed. I was particularly pleased with the coffee machine and cafetiere, and the hairdryer with diffuser!

United KingdomThe location was brought up in a conversation with the landlord. It is 11 miles from the nearest town of Broadford if you need a bit of shopping. Bit further for the main town of Portree. If it was high season I could see it being busy as it is only about 10 - 15 minutes in the car from the ferry. So the road could be awful, but only when the ferry comes in from the mainland. Views from the property were amazing, water or hills. Next to a distillery, with walks down onto the beach and some ruins on the hill. If you can put up with a bit of driving to get to places. It’s highly recommended.
Everything you need was in there. Much better than a hotel room. It was like a home from home. Would definitely go back.

Pabay apartment was lovely, beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely location and views, we liked the chatty sparrows that lived in the bush by the veranda! We would definitely come back here as we fell in love with Skye- such a magical place it quite took our breath away. Den who looks after the apartments was friendly and obviously loves his job.

United KingdomTaxi services on the island aren't great (very expensive and not many cars), so it's definitely worth having your own car/transport — but the accommodation itself was brilliant.
Good facilities, very clean, very comfortable. Easy to get to from the bridge or ferry. Very peaceful and quiet.
