We had a wonderful two day stay. So relaxing and peaceful. From the minute we opened the door we felt comfortable. We appreciated the croissants, jam and fresh milk we found on arrival. There was absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful break. The location was terrific. Thanks Gill for a fantastic time at your awesome Shepherds Hut.

Nothing to do with property but struggled to get a taxi to the train station meaning had to drive into Edinburgh!

Perfect location, nice & quiet & out of the way. Can get to the motorway quickly, near a bustling little town of Lintihhgow. Everything you could need for a short break & more. Fresh eggs, pastries, jams & milk on arrival. Supply of tea bags & Nespresso coffee too! Just perfect

Really peaceful and everything about the Shepherd’s hut is great. I had a great few days here recovering from a long hike and just taking some timeout to relax. The hosts try to avoid contact to let you get your peace and quiet but were incredibly friendly when I did bump into them.

The Shepherd's hut being so quiet and comfortable with pastel colours throughout. It lived up to it's name as sheep passed along the embankment! Everything was provided for barbecuing, plus a separate chimania that added to the whole tranquility of the location Being within touching distance of so many interesting attractions was a big bonus: as we visited the Kelpies, the Falkirk wheel, William Wallace's stomping ground too. We highly recommend West Lothian for it's stunning countryside Treats were left for us upon arrival. It's nice to feel welcomed At one point we were joined by their free range chickens ( and got to sample their delicious eggs ) Other birds included Fieldfare and a pair of Robins

    Nothing, it was perfect

The cozy Shepherds Hut had everything I needed, great location yet quiet and relaxing, it was lovely to be in nature with beautiful views, and a short walk to the pub. Fully equipped and clean with great facilities including comfy bed, hot water on demand, plenty kitchen utensils including the important tea and coffee making. A lovely welcome and communication with the hosts. I just loved it, thank you!

We love this place. This was our third visit. It is perfectly situated, midway for Edinburgh and Glasgow and near Stirling and Falkirk. It is surrounded by beautiful fields and is quiet and peaceful. We have everything we need and it is just the perfect place to escape.

The Shepherds hut itself was beautifully decorated, had all the amenities we needed and was spotless. The location was far enough away from town that it was wonderfully quiet in both the morning and evening but close enough to attractions that nothing was too far of a trek. We had plenty of privacy while being able to enjoy a wonderful view of the forested hills in front of the property.

Arriving at the Shepherds hut we were extremely pleased with the quiet location and lovely outside surroundings. The hut was very well laid out with everything in its place. The bed was soo comfy… Arriving after a long journey was so nice to find milk in fridge with Croissant jam & honey, was a lovely touch.

A cushion would have been nice to sit on when sitting on the garden furniture.

How clean the hut was. The little welcome pack was a very nice gesture. Sitting in the garden having breakfast was so lovely especially when a fox walked past.

I had a fantastic stay at this countryside place. The host was not only lovely but went the extra mile to rescue us when we were lost in the dark trying to find the location. The property was equipped with excellent amenities, and we found everything we needed right at our fingertips. The breathtaking views in the area were the cherry on top, and we even had the chance to enjoy a delightful BBQ on-site. To our surprise, the host had also thoughtfully prepared some refreshing treats for us. What's more, the host was super friendly and even helped us by giving us a lift to the station during the wet weather. It was truly a memorable and heartwarming experience. I can't recommend this place enough!

It is outskirts town, hence if you don't have your own car it can be tricky to get in and out. There is some public transport to get you closeby, but it can take long.

Lovely and cosy place for a weekend. Well decorated. Extremely clean. With all the things you need for breakfast in and then spend the day out and about. They even left some croissant and jam for me :). Also a Nespresso like machine witch capsules and some milk. The bed is very comfortable. The toilet is surprisingly spacious. You have a couple of mirrors and hair dryer. It is great that check in can be done following instructions, no need for anyone to wait for you. There are no hangers in case you need them. It was not a problem for me.

Superb location on edge of Linlithgow for peaceful and comfortable short stay

No wardrobe space to hang clothes, but for our three night stay was not too inconvenient. If the hut had been of bigger dimensions and wardrobe space made available, then stays of a longer duration would have been feasible. A clothes line strung up between trees in the garden area to help dry towels etc. would have been useful.

Very well equipped and laid out shepherds hut considering it's dimensions which obviously limited what can be fitted within. Parking was in a spacious allocated location with the key lock-box right there. Location was superb. Very quiet and peaceful and yet not too far to walk into Linlithgow, or use the hourly bus service (F1) which stops right outside the driveway during the day time only. A regular bus runs from Linlithgow to Edinburgh which suited our needs very well.

The most perfect stay as we walked the John Muir Way. Spotlessly clean, superb shower, really comfy bed, and well stocked kitchenette. We enjoyed sitting out round the fire pit in the evening. Our favourite accommodation of the whole week 😁.
