Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesKey had to be picked up at a separate location, which was a burden to walk to when carrying heavy bags. Another tenant had to help me find the lockbox despite landlord instructions. The bathroom and kitchen contained leftover dry goods and bath products from prior tenants that was both useful and weird.
No breakfast provided.

CanadaThe furniture was less than adequate. The sink in the bathroom was extremely small, and the shower temperature was hard to control. There weren't enough plates and cups in the shared kitchen. It's misleading because it seems like it describes a kitchen in the actual suite.
The bed was comfortable. The location was great, and it was quiet.

South AfricaNot even sure where to start on this, really not a positive experience. I arrived at around 15h15 after walking a fair distance to pick up the keys from a remote location. I arrived to find none of the rooms marked, so a process of door knocking and key testing until I found the right room. In fact I missed the room initially as it the door was open and it still looked inhabited. Shortly after sending a message to the host, a cleaning lady arrived. Another lady arrived and it was clear there was something wrong in the room. They went into the bathroom and took a wet towel into my room and closed the door. Whilst waiting for whatever was going on inside there, I got to stand in the kitchen to wait. There is an allocated cupboard in the kitchen for each room. I opened my cupboard to find old food in there that had clearly been there a while. The ladies came out again and declared the room "clean". The room I was allocated is definitely not one of the pictures advertised for the venue, it was tiny, walls were dirty, the cupboard handles were broken and because I'm taller than the cleaner, could see used cutlery lying on top of the cupboard. I had no choice to sleep there the first night, woke to a dirty bathroom (not the host's fault, just one of the other communal guests). I promptly packed my stuff and left immediately to find alternate accommodation for the next night. I understand the need for affordable accommodation, but this is just not acceptable. The host could easily make this accommodation ok with some maintenance and regular cleaning, but it's clear this is not a priority.
Linen was clean. Location is really convenient.

Super location to go pretty much everywhere with nice looking surroundings. Definitely nice for younger people.

New ZealandCheck in was difficult, having to go to another address, especially with several bags and relying on the tube. The messaging made it seem like someone would meet you at the address. Room was on the small side. Neighbours weren’t aware the property was being sublet either, and weren’t particularly happy.
