Cannot think of anything that we did not like.

The cottage was perfect! You could not have wanted for more, it was definitely a home away from home. They have thought of everything you would need. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. And the eggs tasted great! The cottage was a great base to tour the local area including Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland. There is plenty to see and do in the area. There were lovely views over the fields and a nice walk down to the pond. The hosts were great, they were there if you needed them but not intrusive. Will definitely be returning but this time for longer.

Nothing! Everything was absolutely perfect

We had a truly wonderful stay at this cozy cottage nestled in the heart of the countryside. Surrounded by rolling green fields dotted with sheep and horses, it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cottage itself was warm, clean, and beautifully maintained—everything we needed for a relaxing break. What made the stay even more special was our incredibly kind and helpful host, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. From thoughtful local recommendations to quick responses, their hospitality really stood out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, pastoral getaway with a personal touch! It’s lovely!

Nothing to dislike This really is the perfect place

What a stunning place I have never felt so at home. Greeted by the owner and was left some welcome treats and fresh eggs. The cottage is stunning, spotless and beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need with the most comfortable bed. I loved sitting outside in the sunshine with my book and wandering through the fields. The ducks and tiny ducklings in the large pond were adorable. Will be returning

The location of the cottage is just outside Barnard Castle, on a farm. It is a quiet, rural spot. Sheila, the owner, was very welcoming and had provided some extra treats which was lovely. We were in this part of the world to research family history in the area - and were not disappointed. We visited some local villages (which were all beautiful) and managed to squeeze in some other local beauty/historic spots - all within reasonable driving distance. Teesdale has so much to offer. The cottage itself was very cosy and very warm. We lit the log burner for extra cosiness! I would highly recommend staying here, it is clearly so well cared for and loved - and was spotless!

Very spacious cottage. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the fact there was a bath and shower was amazing! The central location and the living area also made it a perfect place to stay.

The cottage had everything we needed, great location/base to explore from, great little welcome pack, including croissants, eggs and potatoes 🙂 Sheila was lovely and helpful, perfect for our dog with space to walk her in the fields, could not fault it and would definitely return.

Only a tiny gripe that we couldn't adjust the temperature on the fridge and pretty much everything on the shelves froze solid. Could have been something we missed...

Lovely little cottage. Perfect distance from everything. Easy to find, easy to park out front. Friendly host. Lovely welcome 'pack'. Every comfort needed for our stay. Spotlessly clean. No mensa degree needed to work out the heater, cooker, shower, microwave etc. All modern, functional, comfortable and cosy.

Absolutely stunning property. Immaculate and perfectly stocked with all the essentials. Beautiful setting, amazing animals, cozy, without a doubt one the best rentals we’ve had. Perfect location for loads of amazing walks and only a few mins from Barnard Castle 10/10!

Can't rate this cottage highly enough. The hosts have really thought about their guests and there is nothing that they haven't thought about.. Even down too the lovely welcome basket on arrival. The cottage it's self is immaculate throughout and set in beautiful surroundings. Was a lovely relaxing weekend away which we didnt want to end but we have all the hopes of returning again soon

Everything was perfect!

I had a delightful stay at the cozy cottage and I’m already looking forward to returning. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute drive from Barnard Castle town centre. The thoughtful host provided us with milk, croissants, eggs, and even home-grown potatoes. The friendly horses added a charming touch, and the beautiful views made our time there truly special. The cottage felt like a home away from home, equipped with everything we needed. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

No Vacuum cleaner.

What an absolutely stunning little cottage. Worth way more than is being charged. The location is perfect - a couple of miles from town so far enough to take advantage of the "Dark Skies" but close enough for everything you need with supermarkets and lots of local shops. Extremely well equipped - the only thing we could have done with was a pair of tongs in the kitchen. Super cosy with the lovely log burner too. Extremely clean. Loads of little extras - Fresh eggs and potatoes from the farm, criossants, jam, butter, snacks, milk and a good supply of other essentials in the cupboard also. We will definitaly be coming back.

Very nice accommodation situated outside Castle Barnard. First time visit to the area and really enjoyed things to do locally. Host was helpful and recommended local restaurants and walks.
