Breakfast was amazing. Location was excellent all the staff were friendly, Sid (the owner) made us feel at home, fixed a minor issue we had immediately, and is a lovely guy. I think this is the most important part of being away, the people that help you make memories.

The food is lovely! We had lunch sat outside with fab views on Penarth esplanade. Breakfast was delicious with homemade bread & excellent ingredients.

Fab last minute bank holiday get away. Eary check in & comfortable Seaview room. Sid & his wonderful staff make you feel so welcome.

Room was quite small and no view from main window. Bathroom could do with a lick of paint. Paid same price as our friend who had a far superior room, which felt a little unfair.

Great location, comfortable bed and handy for our walk into Cardiff Bay. A good place to stay, close enough to Cardiff for sightseeing but much quieter at night. Nice breakfast.

There wasn’t anything not to like, the only down fall would be the parking which isn’t the property’s fault, and the curtains in the room could be darker as soon as the sun come up the room with lit up.

On arrival parking was a nightmare, we know this cannot be helped,that the owner cannot do anything about it, but it is a single track, one way system, with bay parking. Having to go all the way round each time you failed to find parking was a nightmare. The othe dislike for us was that, for a luxury room, the bed wasn't on legs, this was a nightmare getting in and out, it was also very uncomfortable. It needs upgrading.

Close to Cardiff centre, for a night out. Penarth is a great area. The hotel is in a beautiful location, overlooked the sea. Owner was amazing, very welcoming, took his time to speak with you each day. Food was excellent, good range of options, they make their own fresh bread. Gluten free options too.

The location was perfect, near the sea, with wonderful views. Breakfast choices were extensive, and great care and attention to detail was apparent in delivery. Breakfasts were delicious. Staff were approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Room 6 is on the small side, with not a lot of clothes storage space - we were there for 3 nights and would like to have unpacked fully. There is only one bedside table and lamp - there is no room for one on the bathroom side of the bed. Maybe a small shelf above would be a good idea? The toiletries originally provided in the bathroom were just shampoo, but we asked for some handwash or soap, and were given soap. We were happy to use our own shower gels, shampoo and conditioner, but I felt that, as it said on the Booking listing that toiletries are provided, these should at least be something to wash your hands with. But this was really the only criticism, and to be fair, was dealt with quickly and willingly by Sid.

This accommodation is located right on the sea front in Penarth, making it ideal for a seaside break or, as in our case, a place to stay for the Penarth Chamber Music Festival. Sid, our host, gave us the warmest welcome, and cares about his guests having a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The breakfast, with a variety of options from the restaurant menu (served from 09:00) was excellent, cooked to order, and of high quality. Our double bed was comfortable, though some might have thought the mattress a little soft; it suited us though. We had a shower over the bath in room 6, which did mean climbing over the side of the bath to use the shower, which isn't ideal. But we know other rooms have walk-in showers. And the shower worked well. The little bathroom also has a lovely sea view!

There wasn't anything that we didn't like

The property is in a great location on The Esplanade in Penarth. There are limited parking spaces outside the property. We received a warm welcome from Sid. The room had everything you need and the sea view was lovely. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the black out blinds were very effective. The breakfast menu had a good selection. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant, which we enjoyed. We felt very well looked after by Sid and his hard working team during our stay.

The property was in a great location, very clean, dog friendly, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and spent a lot of time talking to us and giving us tips on things to do in the local area. The breakfast was great, a lot of choice and delicious food. Would really recommend a stay at Sid’s!

Great location I had room 7 with a wonderful sea view I couldn't have the breakfast because I had to leave before 9am so I got a ham cheese sandwich instead: nice attention from the staff
