Shabby. Some of the staff not even remotely helpful, seemed genuinely unaware of the basics of hospitality.

Nothing all was great

We stayed at Dundrache House and found it to be a neat, well-looked-after place with very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and doing their job well, though the décor felt like a mix of different centuries that didn’t quite tie together.

There is definitely room for improvement: breakfast could benefit from a stronger focus on fresh, local foods instead of supermarket pancakes, muffins, and canned fruit. A few small changes in presentation and quality would make a big difference to the overall experience. That said, the effort of the team is clear, and with a few adjustments Dundrache House could be a lovely hotel.

This is a good value hotel. The people who run the place could not be nicer or more accommodating - we really appreciated their friendly welcome and they made us feel so at ease. The public rooms are lovely and comfortable.

We stayed in the 'new' wing and it is in need of a real refurbish. I would bet that the older rooms have charm and character. The new wing room was kind of last century B&B standard, perfectly workable but not great. We didn't mind that much because everything else was wonderful.

Views from the dining room were stunning and the breakfasts were excellent with well cooked eggs (both boiled and fried) and properly cooked bacon. Dinner was beautifully presented. The decor and furnishings were very well matched to the property and the paintings were excellent - not the usual hackneyed prints you find in most hotels - it tells of a family run hotel.

It was super cozy, clean and very well taken care off with amazing views . But the staff was exceptionally nice especially the Romanian lady that’s in the kitchen she was super sweet and helpful.

We just wished there was a fridge in the rooms and some rooms showers were really old fashioned

The building is typical of the area and located in a very quiet spot, yet just a short walk from the city center. The room is a bit dated but nonetheless welcoming and equipped with everything you need. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Friendly and welcoming staff. Recommended.

Slightly dated interiors but welcoming.

The hotel is very spacious and nice. Just 10 min walk from the main street located in a quiet area. Our room was good and comfortable. We enjoyed our short stay. We liked the old building - it almost brings you back in time, like 100 years ago. Very good atmosphere.

The fan I. The toilet stayed on way too long and it was noisy. It was supposed to stay on for a minute but at times it was way way longer than that.

- location, we had a room with a beautiful view on the Scottish landscape - our room was properly sized for 2 adults and 1 child, thank you - nice staff

- if you like British style from the 70´s otherwise a bit of refresh would be welcomed. - mattress were very soft, they would deserve some refresh too - breakfast is ok, not specific to this hotel, but quite standard with no fresh products rather standard industrial meals.

The surrounding property was really pretty. Breakfast was delicious, gorgeous view everywhere, staff were super friendly. Room had a big (clean) bathtub, windows opened wide which was great for the summer. Town seemed far away until we discovered the short cut!!!

It was a bit pricey.

Lovely clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, fabulous outlook. Restaurant was great, lovely dinner and many breakfast options. Couldn’t fault.

The rooms were very clean and the hotel had so much character. The location was also perfectly within walking distance of all the sights.

Breakfast was great , good choices and efficient service . Very helpful.
