Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne or two of the building's fixtures and fittings are showing signs of wear and tear, but nothing that detracted from our stay.
Plas y Brenin proved the perfect place to stay for my daughter's and my climbing and hiking visit to Snowdonia. Everyone is involved in or oriented towards outdoor activities, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, the rooms are well appointed and the breakfast and dinner are excellent - nutritious, tasty and really well cooked food, perfect for starting active days in the hills. We liked the unpretentious, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere it has.

IndiaBathroom had a slight smell. It looked clean so might be the plumbing?
Great value. Own room and bathroom, and lovely views from my window. Shower was powerful and room had everything you needed. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. I came down to breakfast early and could help myself to cereals etc with no problem

United KingdomThe one big disappointment was that although there were 3 handpumps in the bar, there was no real ale available. Apparently, this was because the manager who normally orders it was off! That's very poor.
Very nice location, facilities were good.

United KingdomMaybe the room was a bit "institutional", but I slept really well.
Evening meal available. Hostel type breakfast as expected. Got a packed lunch (All convenient, with no extra walking needed). Staff very friendly and helpful. As a solo walker, it felt like the right place to stay. Had the best drying room I have used for a long time. The centre has a lot of history.

United KingdomTwice I got caught out - I was looking forward, all day, to a hot meal in the bar , and left it late. At 8pm or slightly before was told it was all finished. Was forced to go into Betwys Y Coed twice to try my luck there - and what a dispiriting experience that was - food finished at 8pm and parking charges still applying. It was sh **. I suppose I should have attempted to eat earlier - my own fault really. But, I wonder - has everything changed recently ? (Hot food finishing at 8pm) - I didn't used to get caught out like this. It was a real pisser. Another thing - I did find people at the centre (not staff) rather distant and reserved - so I didn't connect with anyone at all, apart from the staff - who were nice. As a single guy it can be a real downer when other people seem to be keeping themselves to themselves . Well, everyone's entitled to be reserved if they want to be - but what has happened ? I'm sure Britain didn't used to be like this. What are people afraid of ? The price - was reasonable, compared with what's around - but I think accommodation in the UK is over-priced.
I was there for 2 nights in mid-April. The location is fantastic, right next to one of my favourite views of Snowdonia. The nature of the place - a hostel-like outdoors centre - gives it great potential as a place to meet and connect with outdoors-loving, adventurous people. Staff were friendly. place was clean and I liked the dining room and bar room facilities. I got a decent breakfast , and in addition there was provision for your day out in the wilds, with sandwiches to take and water bottle filling and hot water for your flask. I would definitely stay there again. It's great assets are : the fantastic location, and it being a place to meet like-minded outdoors loving and nature-loving people.

United KingdomThe rooms were like student accommodation. Quite dated.
Only 10 miles from Snowdon. Great location for cycling and also a Great safe Lake which isn’t deep next to it for some wild swimming. A nice bar and as a solo traveller was easy to make friends. The bed was comfy and shower nice and hot.
