Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI Could not fault this property and stay in anyway!
The location of this little gem is just perfect for those looking to take in the Highlands. Glencoe, Ballachulish and all it's surrounding areas are just beautiful. Sonjas home is just minutes away from starting the magnificent Schoolhouse ridge, short drives to both Buachaille Etive Mòr and Buachaille Etive Beag, the stunning Aonach Eagach and many more walks and trails. Oban and Fort William are both wonderful places to visit, and are under an hour drive to get there, which opens up the opportunity to take in the Mighty Ben Nevis and great boat trips! The room was exactly as advertised, while small, there is plenty of space for all your belongings. The picture on the wall of the bedroom is of the Wee White house in front of Buachaille Etive Mor should you wish to visit it in person! The bed is a storage bed so plenty of room under there, one set of drawers and a bedside table for main clothing items. There is even a drawer full of essentials for you to use such as coat hangers, chargers, a speaker, notebook and pen, and some leaflets and maps for you to start planning your adventures! There is a coat rack on the wall and Sonja kindly has left pretty much, the whole space under the stairs for drying clothes, storing suitcases, storing shoes and hanging extra jackets etc. The bathroom is a good size with a great shower, a bath, and perfect space for toiletries in the drawers under the sink. She also has left out toiletries in a little basket and some essential, before and after walking, lotions and potions like after sun, insect repellant and the great deep heat to soothe the aching muscles after a long day in the hills! The kitchen has everything you need to make light snacks and all the dishes and cutlery you need, should you bring home some food from the surrounding areas. Our favourite had to be the Quarriers Kitchen Fish & Chips.

AustraliaYou need to walk through the main hallway from bedroom to bathroom. We didn’t find this ideal
Room was fine. Enough room to walk each side of the bed and have our luggage on one side. Lovely decor and great view. Spotlessly clean

Cosy room, great bed, high quality bedding, perfect bathroom, space in hallway for suitcase and boots, kitchen to prepare breakfast and snacks. Sonja is one of my favourite hosts ever! Communication with her was great and there was simply a positive energy in the home. When I told her that I had a big hike planned she even offered me a lift, which was so kind and it gave me the chance to walk/climb to the hidden valley too, which was amazing! (And her dog is so cute!) Ballachulish is very small, but had everything I needed. And it‘s easy to reach by bus (CityLink Fort William/Glasgow). I felt very safe as a female solo traveler.

United StatesThe size of the room. It does justice to call this B&B (no breakfast) the Cozy Double Room.
There is only one guestroom on the first floor. The room is small, but you get a "private" entry, hallway, bathroom, and kitchenette. You almost feel that you have your own private small cottage. Everything has been nicely remodeled and is exceptionally clean. The bathroom is modern and clean also. The owner Sonja is super nice and conscientious. The location is great, and it is quite easy to walk to downtown Ballachulish. (Use the grassy short cut path just across the street)
