Location good for access to town centre and Kynren shuttle bus. Very clean establishment, comfortable bed, quiet street, we slept well. Friendly host.

There was nothing I disliked.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay, and would happily have stayed for longer. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed in the room, including a kettle, tea and coffee. Even a dressing gown was provided. Wi-fi connectivity was great. The shared bathroom was next door to it, with good pressure in the shower. Sean could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The continental breakfast he provided set me up nicely for the day. His house is only a two minute walk from the railway station, and there are 'bus stops just round the corner. It takes only a few minutes by 'bus to reach the town centre - or 15 to 20 minutes in foot. I thought this property offered excellent value for money, and would not hesitate to recommend it and to stay there again.

On arriving Sean greeted us warmly and walked us through where the facilities were and our rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was really the icing on the cake.

Having to leave at the end of my holiday!!

My single room was comfy and just what I wanted as a base for my holiday. I was surprised to get tea/ Coffee in the room a free breakfast and a microwave to heat food. The owner was friendly and the house was clean and well decorated

Breakfast was a great touch in the morning, wasn’t expecting it Pre-arrival communication and information sent out was very useful Sean (the owner) was very friendly, but also respectful of our privacy Lots of extra little touches - robes, towels, trays to bring food back to your room, additional duvets incase of cold, just to mention a few

It didn't affect us but be aware some rooms share a bathroom.

The house is on a quiet side street and our ensuite room was very comfy and quiet. The arrival instructions were very clear and our host very helpful. The morning continental breakfast was a bonus, it was a casual arrangement to help ourselves. For room hot drinks it was good to have real milk from the shared fridge on the landing. We walked to the Kynren show which took us around 35 minutes (the Kynren path down the hill after the bridge took us 10 mins).

Nothing it was great, maybe a fresher smell, it was quite old, had a elderly smell especially with the bedsheets, but can understand if that's their main clientele.

Warm and welcoming, big room, nice bed, good quality tv, definitely shocking considering the price (in a good way) felt like it should be at least double for a night.

There wasn't much to dislike really, for what we wanted it was ideal, one thing if I wanted to advise rather say dislike, is the bathroom, when you come out in the dark, it's a few feet before sensor turns light on, when unsteady on feet can be unnerving, but something easily put right.

Our stay was our second visit, which tells you a lot in itself, and it didn't disappoint, we were welcomed by friendly host, who could not have been more helpful, It is in a perfect situation, close to many place for food, and a supermarket within walking distance, will certainly be returning at some point. I had a wonderful stay at this charming bed and breakfast. The place was spotlessly clean, and the host went above and beyond—exceptionally friendly and incredibly helpful. For the price, it was an absolute steal, especially with breakfast included. The location couldn’t have been more convenient—just a stone’s throw from the train station—and the check-in process was smooth and easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately as this location is near a hospital. The on street parking require a permit for specific hours. Thankfully the host is able to provide parking permits for guests for these times. But as it is public street parking, spaces can be limited.

Best value I found in County Durham. The host Sean was very friendly and made sure to welcome me and explain the available facilities.
