The Shepherd's Hut is a model of efficient comfort. Everything has been well thought-out and there's just nothing lacking. Anna is the friendliest of hosts with a warm welcome on arrival. The view down to the sea is extraordinary. And it couldn't possibly be much more peaceful. I hope to return!

There was nothing that I didn’t like. It was lovely

I wanted to stay somewhere that was quiet at very short notice and quite fancied the idea of a shepherd’s hut as I had never stayed in one before. Anna greeted me and was very friendly and helpful. This ticked all the boxes. It was perfect.

We had the most wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the owner Anna and were shown around as she explained in detail all we need to know about the hut. The hut itself is beautifully crafted – cozy, spotlessly clean, and full of thoughtful touches such as tunnocks tea cakes that made it feel like a true home away from home. The views of rolling countryside (in between the showers of rain) was pure bliss. Lovely footpaths to walk on over the fields and through the trees to the town. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there was plenty of wood available for our braai. We especially loved sitting outside and watching Molly, the geese and a dog who all came over to say hello. The hosts were lovely – helpful, responsive, and respectful of privacy. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of care into creating a tranquil setting, within their beautiful garden. We were there the weekend of the Artland Open Studios event, met lots of lovely locals in the community who were very welcoming. If you're looking for a relaxing, getaway surrounded by nature, We recommend this place more highly.

There is nothing to dislike about Quincecote

Tranquil setting with stunning views over the Hartland valley. Anna was there to greet us with a friendly smile and a welcoming demeanour to show us where everything was stored. The shepherd's hut is quaint and well equipped with everything we needed. A lot of thought and love has been put into Quincecote, which was central to all the coastal places we wanted to visit

We were only staying for the weekend and the weather was good on the Saturday but terrible on the Sunday but we were lovely and cosy in the hut despite the wind & the rain!

Gorgeous Shepherds Hut where great attention had been paid to detail, a good shower too! Quiet location with a lovely view towards the sea. Anna was always very friendly & rushed out with our bottle of milk when we arrived and advised us on location of nearby shops, a good place to eat etc. We visited nearby Pattards restaurant and had a delicious Sunday lunch.

Everything was good, no major complaints, the kitchen could have been stocked a bit more with some basics like salt pepper and some oil; but no other problems, we had everything we needed.

beautiful location, in a peaceful country side. The hut was cute with a fireplace and also had a small lawn and benches outside. Very well stocked and decorated.
