How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Spacious, clean and comfortable . Microwave, full cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, enough pots and pans. En-suite. Well kept premises especially close to University and garden seats. Plenty of shops and cafes nearby, quite a quiet location which felt safe at night. 10 min walk to bay and revived esplanade all the way to Mumbles.

I really don't have any complaints other than the location was a bit out of the way - I'd love to be in an area where there was more to walk around and look at, but not a big deal.
Ibis Swansea is a very pleasant, if basic, traveler hotel. There are no amenities like gyms, spas nor pools, but what is present is functional, adequate and pleasant. We stayed in a quiet two bed room facing the car park. We noticed there are two EV chargers, though we did not use them, and we appreciated that parking was included. The buffet breakfast looked ok but I only had coffee, and it was quite good. The bathroom was nice - no tub but great otherwise. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated there were a number of electrical outlets to charge our devices.

Noise in the car park at night, but this was dealt with by staff.
Really helpful staff and comfortable rooms with great facilities. Appreciated the sustainability measures.

On a busy main road, can hear traffic noise in the room, needs better sound proofing to dampen the road noise, possibly a wall or better windows
Location was good, 10 minutes walk from city centre, on the bus route also.

The only slight downside was it was very hot in the room even with the window open.
Comfy beds, clean room, helpful and pleasant staff, plenty of parking.

The hotel is now beginning to look tired and worn, some rooms look a little sparse too. The hotel needs a 'snagging' look over just and a few licks of paint to bring it back to looking nice. Marked walls and doors with worn appearance is very apparent.
Great breakfast and warm welcome, attentive staff and generally clean throughout. Parking and check in very easy.

A fair bit of ambient background noise in the room, but not enough to keep me awake.
Clean, comfortable and well-equipped room. Very comfy bed. Good shower. Tea & coffee things. Window that opens (a little bit). Friendly staff, convenient location, easy to find, free parking.

Quiet and close to the city center. One can actually take a walk into town if you’re not in a hurry.

Room had cob webs behind the curtains that were full of dust. so hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Made me feel like the rest of the room could be suspect.
Bar on site was nice. Room was ok, nice size with all you would need. Breakfast was just passable.

Reception and bar area had the doors open and really smelt badly of smoke from people and staff smoking out side the main doors. No air conditioning or room fans

Rooms were not as quiet as I thought they would be. I could hear other guests going through the door to my section of the floor.

Not a downside but could do with a couple of free biscuits in each room. Also there was nowhere to put sanitary products ( noticed but not needed on this visit)
Lovely clean rooms , nice breakfast with plenty of choice , welcoming staff and plenty of free parking. This is a card only hotel , this wasn't a problem on our visit but in case anyone is unaware.

There is no aircon in the room and if I open the window, the traffic noise disturbs our sleep.
