The bedroom was a little tired but clean. Bathroom had bath with overhead shower but would lend itself to benefit from a nice modern walk in shower.

Beautiful location set in its own grounds with a nice tree lined drive to the hotel. Hotel is spacious, welcoming and clean. Local history captured within the Norman Cornish lounge (Spennymoor artist -my home town)

Not always easy to park. Spaces should be saved for hotel guests separately to the Spa and Golf facilities.

The breakfast was a disappointment. Asked was the sausage gluten free and a member of staff said no and walked away. We got down to breakfast at 9am Sunday and there was no fruit left and the pastries were dry after being sat out and the hot breakfast had been sat out a while so was over cooked.

Not a great selection of spirits in the bars, expected a little more ‘top shelf’ choices. Room wasn’t spotless, and there was a cigarette burn in the curtains. I think the price I paid was fair but everything seemed like an optional extra, was given the choice to pay an extra £100 to use a different swimming pool?

Breakfast was lovely, good selection of foods. Bed was really comfy. Steam room was nice.

The room had a small window on the ground floor so was dark with limited views. Also this part of the hotel is a bit of a warren to find the room. I feel the signage should be improved as other guests felt the same.

Staff were beyond excellent. Every member had a smile, a genuine hello and a real desire to make the stay special The rib grill was excellent and the spa was very good too

Different beers available in different bars : I could not get Guinness in the Fusion Restaurant so had to walk over to the main bar every time I wanted a pint with my meal. This is not acceptable when paying nearly £200 for a room.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. Sausages burnt, tomatoes cold. But other than that overall good.

We liked everything. It's what my daughter and I needed . Quiet to recharge ourselves some daughter mother time and it was lovely. Staff were very friendly helpful and very polite.

Very overpriced considering breakfast was not included. Discounted room price for attending the ball was still more expensive than with booking.com.

Stayed overnight as we were attending a charity ball. Lovely room. Receptionist who booked us in was very friendly and helpful.
