Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNothing particularly, the only concern was about neighbours. First night they were celebrating something till 1 AM. Other nights were ok
The property had all required for comfort stay. Location is perfect, big shop (Tesco) is nearby and train station as well. Owner is very helpful and responsive.

United KingdomOnly a few minor issues. The kitchen could have done with a dish rack, another tea towel and some kitchen roll. Instructions for how to operate the oven would have helped. The bathroom had no hooks for hanging clothes or drying towels, which made it a bit inconvenient when showering:bathing as there was no where to put clothes/towels. We ended up using the drying rack to dry the towels.
The location was excellent. It was close to public attractions and amenities (e.g. Tesco). The house was clean, comfortably and a good size for a family of four. The street was quiet and the neighbours were friendly.

United KingdomGood location for working in the Refinery. We had two vans, so parked one on the drive and the other in the road.

CanadaThe kitchen was missing a few items of convenience, such as spices, tin foil and perhaps a French press or coffee maker. The biggest obstacle we had was with interior heat and hot water. There was a QR code in the kitchen that provided pertinent information about the house; however, our foreign phone plans would not allow us access. After two days, we found the combo-boiler and turned it on. I’m not sure why we didn’t contact the host for assistance. For future guests, we’d suggest a folder of information about the house be provided on site for those unable to use a QR code for any reason.
We liked the location and proximity to train services into Edinburgh very much. Tesco was conveniently close and the neighbourhood was very quiet. The decor inside the house was comfortable and pleasing.

United KingdomCigarette smoke smell in the property. The front cover for the boiler was on the floor leaving the boiler uncovered. Neighbours coming through the garden to get access to their property from the rear of the house. Thought we had intruders at one point.
Close to where we were travelling to

JerseyKitchen lacked basic equipment, washing up bowl, cooking dishes ( had to buy one ) tongs, measuring jug, no cupboards to store food. Main bedroom light didn’t work. Twin bedroom bedside lamp but no socket had to take extension lead from lounge. Trying to figure out central heating, challenging. Despite it being advertised as non smoking, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke all week, we even found a lighter hidden behind the sofa. We left it there so you can check it out. Told to move car as neighbours 2 doors down stored their dustbins in garden and couldn’t get them out for dustbin men !!!! Parking in drive had to drive over high curb, other houses had ramp.
Furniture was comfortable, apart from one of dining chairs, leg was wobbly, not safe. Beds comfortable. Company were quick to try and sort out heating, contacted us more than once.

United KingdomThe property is massively lacking with equipment to cook with there were two very small frying pan so if more than 2 are staying I would bring your own , heating was on a timer and could not figure out how to turn it off also tv was stuck on polish language could not get it to go to English , curb outside is very high to get your car over probably best to leave your car out in the road , found vape and dog treats under the couch and mascara was and a small clasp left under unit in the room with the two single beds , cleanliness was horrendous everywhere was coated in dust and did not feel clean and if you want to do a washing the rotary washing line out the back door is cable tied so unable to do a washing no seating areas outside if you want to sit out also very loud music playing at 1 in the morning for an hour straight , also toilet blocked aswell and we had to fix that . For the money I would say to look else where for 372 pound for the weekend . Not value for money
The property is very near helix park and the pub staff at the top of the road were very lovely and welcoming
