Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. I was looked after by a member of staff who was very polite . Pete was also very helpful too. It was clean and tidy. All facilities in the kitchen worked. I would stay there again if I visit Walsall again

Good value for money. Clean and comfortable. I felt a bit apprehensive getting to the property because the getting in process was unclear. Very steep stairs. Not suitable for a young family or the elderly. Never met anyone apart from a guy in the next room. Bathroom facilities are shared. Very clean. Only given the lowish marking because it was a bit awkward. It was ok but I think some people wouldn't like it

Pete was really polite, kind, helpful, and didn't mind at all if I had to ask for extra help. If I'm in Walsall again, I will use his facilities again.

Wednesbury Road is busy and noisy, but checking the listing and location prior to booking, this was not a suprise. Just be aware if you have mobility issues that the bedroom and facilities are on the first floor.
Pete was very quick to respond to communication and very helpful. Helped me sort parking (on street and free). Excellent facilities with pleasant and polite other guests sharing.

Guest should be aware that the the bathroom is not ensuite. It was just outside the room. However, there was a lock and the host told me that I would be the only user. This was the case.
The communication from the host was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. The room was decent and there was a shared kitchen area. The shower was decent and it felt very secure. There was an excellent pub a 15 minutes walk away.

The location is rather rough, lots of rubbish on the road and just in general one of those you would avoid however for one night it was okay
The stay was absolutely fine and the owner communicated very well, bed was really comfy and had a TV. It had all you need for short stay

Traffic noise from about 6:45am (though window double-glazed) Couldn't open key box despite being provided with the correct code. Fortunately the owner who was downstairs at the time helped me
Room was adaquate, it was warm (storage heater), bedding clean and good range of material to view on TV via Amazon Fire TV. Kitchen and bathroom very clean

The only negative i would give is the parking mot really something host can control though, I had to park on a street round the back but can still be space in front of the property

Bathroom could have been a bit more cleaner, there was some noise from builders next to the place but I believe there's nothing you could do there. All good.
Easy to access space, meets all the basic necessities you could have, has a bed, a kitchen, a bathroom, I didn't need anymore to be honest, great place with a lot of simplicity.

Property doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned properly in a long time, bathroom was in an extremely poor state and rubbish under the bed, bedding with rips too
