Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. A few spiders present, one in a Web which could have been cleaned The plumbing was not good, the shower would not drain after using for one minute and water flooded the bathroom

We did not realise that there was no provision for breakfast, other than either a drive to a local garden centre (from 9am) or to buy something from a local shop. But there are no cooking facilities or fridge in the room so self service breakfast would be quite limited. Also the local shop was closed by 4pm on the Sunday.
Convenient location for our visit in the area. Clean room with sufficient space and a nice spacious walk in shower. Convenient pub next door for evening meal, plenty of parking. Good location for visiting Berkeley town.

All was ok.
Cozy, with a garden, although property is located close to the road, you can barely hear noise. Inn has good food and friendly stuff, big parking lot available in front of restaurant.

Breakfast not available, however they recommend the nearby garden centre. We found the nearby Hideout lounge in Tortworth . Breakfast was excellent

It would have been nice to have breakfast available on the premises. The garden area in front of the rooms could have been nicer.
While no breakfast was available we were pointed in the right direction to local food and shops. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with an excellent en-suite. There was a portable air conditioning unit which worked well and was very needed as the nights were very warm. There was plenty of safe parking and It was good value for money. On the whole it was an enjoyable experience and we would book again.

Super convenient and pleasant accommodation including the location and ease of self check-in. The room was spotless and one of the cleanest I've stayed in which was a nice change from the recent average I've experienced. For a new business and host, you've left a lasting impression and I hope that you carry this positive management well into the future.

Everything was great. The only comment I could say was the pillows were a bit thick for my taste. Otherwise very comfortable though.
Good sized room, well appointed and decorated. Easy access from the pub car park. Check in and communication with the hosts was smooth. Location was excellent for an M5 stop off on the way to Cornwall.

Nothing, it was great.
Good little rooms, not disturbed by pub. Huntsman Inn staff very helpful as were hosts with queries about extending our stay. Very good value.

Side lamp very bright. I had to cover it to mute the light. I wake early and read so was a bit bright for my hubby wanting to sleep in a bit.
Didn’t have breakfast. Dinner at the pub was nice. Staff really did their best to accommodate my plant based request. Extremely friendly and helpful,

I wasn’t aware until entered room that no onsite facilities to have breakfast. Not sure if I missed that in the original information when booking. But a shop just round the corner.
Clean and tidy. Very cosy. Provide tea and coffee. Evening meal at the pub was very nice. Made contact with accommodation and very helpful as I hadn’t checked emails to see check in information. I’d definitely stay again.
