The hotel is at quite a high price point, but the rooms were very comfortable and all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was very good, we were able to order exactly what we wanted by switching items offered. Staff were excellent, products were great quality and cooked perfectly. Fantastic homemade cakes and biscuits on arrival. The location was amazing, with wonderful gardens to the rear.

The shower in our room was awaiting repair unfortunately but the bath did the job.

Excellent breakfast , excellent grazing menu ( Monday nights ) , huge comfortable bed , large bathroom with bath and shower , wonderful hosts , nice old walled garden to stroll in , easy parking.

A lovely guesthouse in an old manor house. A beautiful and pleasant place, with extremely friendly hosts. The guesthouse is beautifully situated in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was very large and comfortable. I highly recommend it as a place to stay on the NC 500 route.

Nothing wrong with the place at all - we loved it!

The hosts could not be more hospitable, they were helpful before we arrived, making sure that my 88 year-old Mum would have everything she needed in her room to make her stay comfortable. My two dogs were amply catered for, complimentary dog towels, rugs, treats, and poop bags were a great welcome for them. The breakfast was delicious, the chef clearly knows his onions when it comes to fluffy pancakes, good maple syrup, and crispiest of bacon. This is a family-run place, and the kids were on hand to help their parents. If you want a comfortable, friendly spot on the North Coast route, then this would be a great option - or go and stay for a super-comfortable holiday, there is a lot to see and do in the area. We also loved the walled garden, which is work in progress but which has good bones and charming views.

The bathroom was tiny . Not much bigger than a telephone box . For the price of the room would have expected a better bathroom .

No negative comments. A lovely stay with friendly hosts

A warm welcome from a friendly family that runs this Lodge. We were made to feel at home immediately and shown to our room by one of the children. The room is slightly old fashioned but very comfortable and in keeping with the style of the lodge. It had a very comfortable bed, an ensuite with bath and shower and the room had everything you would need for your stay. They also have a restaurant incorporated into the Lodge which serves great home cooked food including fresh fish. Breakfast is served with either a buffet or cooked options.

Due to our age we dislike stairs and there were plenty to climb.

The owners were absolutely wonderful. The setting is beautiful. More beautification of the facility and grounds is still needed. (They have not been open too long.) The home has a wonderful history and does have a restaurant.

We should have booked a longer stay

From the moment we arrived the welcome was warm and friendly Sophie and Stuart couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms are all unique and individual, the decoration in keeping with the building. The beds very comfortable and gave us a great nights sleep. We booked for our evening meal which was also prepared and cooked to a very high standard by Stuart. Well worth a visit to this little gem……….but don’t tell everyone 😊😊

Nothing, you would be silly not to stay here!

EVERYTHING! We would stay here time and time again. Absolutely loved our time at the lodge. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and with great local tips. The food….delicious!! They even gave us the cutest dog basket with a towel, blanket, treats and poo bags! Can’t wait to stay here again!
