Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

It was ok As expected really Just basic accommodation But we felt a few upgrades would be good The double mattress wasn't the best,the springs had about had there day The sofas to weren't comfy There were stains on sofas and some of cushions on the bed...where it looked like stuff had been spilt and then tried to clean off having marks The shower tray was stained yellow also.. But please don't think these things spoilt my stay But others may be put off by these things It hard work keeping on top of holiday rentals so this is more feedback than a moan

Nothing tbh, though we did feel it would be good to have guest book/details on what's nearby and wifi . One of the more permanent residents,seemed to like driving his Audi fast into the car park area, when you have small children it did make us quite nervous.
Absolutely spot on accommodation, everything was easy to use, clean and just exactly as described. It was lovely being able to spend time as a family together. And we loved Jack! Our children made friends with him and was sonlovey watching them play together!

Not really I didn't like more an observation Wish there was a mirror in twin room also a shower caddy in shower to put your shower gel and shampoo instead of on floor but not moaning at all

Mattresses and sofas really need replacing .

My only criticism (not a complaint) was that the pillows were quite flat. Not much of a problem for us as we just used additional ones from the unused room as there were only 2 of us staying, but equally we didn't bring this to the hosts attention and I'm sure if we had they would've sorted it out!
The cottage was clean, well located, clear instructions were provided, host was very helpful in directing us to the cottage and very accommodating. The area was quiet and each cottage has a little outdoor table and stable door to allow for plenty of fresh air when the weather is nice.

The main bed mattress was not the most comfortable, I could feel the springs when sleeping on my side, considering the price of the property I would expect either a mattress topper or a new mattress. I drove quite a long distance so you can imagine a bad night's sleep does have a knock on effect to this.
Location was great very rural and located in a working farm.

My partner who is 14 stone found the mattress uncomfortable on our first night but I used a quilt from a single bed to use as an extra mattress topper for him which made it better. I found the bed quite comfortable.
Cottage was very well equipped, peaceful location, good WiFi signal and value for money.

A few details could do with some attention. For example only two spoons in a property for 5 people.
Ideal location for us, rural location but within walking distance of Chepstow. Well equipped and clean. Lovely location, easy to park.

Lovely big wardrobe in the main bedroom- not coat hangers so no use. We had a formal dinner to go to on the Saturday at the race course but no where to hang our clothes to let the travel creases drop.
Loved the cottage, was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Very comfortable

Whether it was near end of season but mugs and dishes were chipped.This didn't cause a problem and realise accidents happen.
We were really surprised how spacious the accomodation is.Very well stocked.The little extras made a welcome suprise e.g.milk coffee sugar tray

Beds were uncomfortable and TV was a tad small. Needed binoculars to watch it from the other side of the room 😁
