Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

There was a miscommunication as I never received any instructions on how to enter the property. It was eventually sorted, otherwise an excellent stay. Very small bathroom but did not bother me.

There is nothing I didernt like. It was perfect.
This was a lovly room spotles clean and eveything you need.the host was very freindy and helpful. I've Booked again its a perfect location the host have really put effort into the room for your comfort.

The weather was too hot ...lol
Excellent stay quiet peacefull top rated setup everything is thought of well done to the host and we will come again soon plenty to do and see cannot complain about anything the price was well worth it and if anyone is looking for a base when in London or surrounding area this is it Thank you both Katie and Martyn

A couple of very minor points. The toilet was trickling all the time and no other towel other than a small hand towel in the en-suite. As I said very minor and didn’t affect my stay. Would definitely use again.

Very small room and bathroom. Windows didn’t open well due to furniture blocking them. Access is down a first lane which would be difficult if wet. We had bicycles and it was tricky getting them through the gate and narrow external passage.
Good location close to centre. Owner was very helpful. It was great having a washing machine and an external patio.

Access to the room is a little restricted in space . The driveway around the back of the owners house - where you gain access to the property - is narrow and you would only be able to drive in and then reverse back - you cannot park here - you need to transfer your car to a space on the road somewhere - I did get a space quite close . I drove my car up to save on carrying luggage by foot but is quite muddy and quite slippery in the wet with a slight incline , so wouldn't advise driving car up unless you have to . It's quite a narrow entrance way from the back yard too. Toilet had a constant water trickle , which owners are aware of and needs fixing - I slept through it and ignored it though !! Shower was good , but very restricted in space - if you are small in size , it's ok !! Lovely lighting , but no option for low light or a lamp close to bed to switch off - feedback already given to owner on this and received well . Windows all open at waist height , so some may not feel as secure without a smaller higher window to open - but as you have the rear access gate under control and you're in someone's garden , then possibly not a big issue.
Gave feedback to host on a few things and their response was very constructive so I think they are wanting to improve the stay for people. Good value for money in what you get. Bed extremely comfy . Nice powerful enough and warm shower . Big fridge freezer and microwave and sink to use - all of which are extremely clean as was whole room. Keycode was easy after a few goes and very flexible on my late time of arrival and early departure . Nice curtains and blinds to block out light for good sleep and privacy. Good size TV with lots of channels. Good place to stay when you just need a comfy and pretty safe place to sleep in the area . Easy to find too with the help of a video sent by host. Supermarket very nearby too a few mins by car.
