Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe condition of the room in general could have been a bit better, the bathroom is really tiny. There was a bar/pub under our window, that was somewhat noisy. No sophisticated way to leave the luggage behind after checkout.
This hotel is in a great location, both the underground and buses are in walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast is also quite nice.

United KingdomThe standard double rooms are tiny and the en suite is almost too small for words.
It was positioned in a very convenient location.

AustraliaAt first we were a bit shocked at the size of the room and did ask if we could be moved. Being a Saturday they were fully booked out but more than happy to accommodate us from the Monday. When Monday rolled around, we were very happy with our room and how cosy, clean and safe we felt so decided to stay. The bed was too soft for our liking and the pillows too flat. Other than that we were very happy with our stay at Lexham Gardens and would choose to stay there again.
The hotel is slowly doing a renovation. We did not get a renovated room. The room was very small but it was comfortable and clean. The shower was incredible and we had a door that opened to a balcony. The location was excellent being very close to Earl's Court and Glouster Road stations. Everything was on the doorstep from supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and laundromats. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. We felt very welcome and safe. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice from a continental to an English cooked breakfast.

South AfricaThe room I was initially checked-in was rather very small, didn't quite match what was linked to my booking and there were some red insects crawling on the bed so I got moved to another room,a bit bigger thank God,with street view but the shower drainage had a little smell. Overall the showers are small, I am not petite so imagine that.
The location is great, walking distance to the museums and the Kensington palace, hyde park. The staff was friendly too

United KingdomThe room (008) was nice but some plug sockets didn’t work, the Tv didn’t work no channels worked, there was WiFi but didn’t work in our room which was downstairs, a few lights by the bed also didn’t work. The lock on the door didn’t work either. One thing else more a personal request I guess but they didn’t do decaf coffee so if you pregnant or have other reasons for needing decaf there wasn’t any. Breakfast was ok but felt some elements where lacking
The property was very nice, staff were fantastic. Was lovely and clean and well presented

United KingdomUnfortunately it was 30 degrees the day we stayed over and the fans in the room just weren't doing much for the heat. Also had to unplug things to have the fans plugged in. But as that is a rare occasion in the UK I understand why they weren't prepared.
Location was excellent, hotel a little dated but suited our needs.

AustraliaCouldn’t get the shower temperature onto cold so it was a constant boiling temperature, not ideal on a 30 degree day. Water pressure wasn’t great either. The window won’t stay open, had to prop it open with a water bottle.
Location, close to shops and the tube station. Room was tidy upon arrival.

United KingdomPhotos on the hotel website were nothing like the standard double room we were allocated. There was no chairs in the room the single wardrobe that had a mirrored door was totally obstructed by a bedside unit. We had a fan which was very well received as it was unusually warm for the UK. Shower door was in need of attention and although clean the cupboard under the sink was warped and had considerable water damage. Hotel very well situated we got what we paid for, had a great night's sleep, breakfast wasn't the best we've had but adequate.
Staff were helpful and very polite
