Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JerseyIt was hard to find places to store things, especially fresh food in the fridge, but of course that's the nature of staying in a little Shepherd's Hut, so no fault of the owner!
Lovely location and amazing views over the valley.

United KingdomComfortable and secluded - just what we needed! It was also lovely to watch the bunnies and birds around the shed. A bit hot during the heatwave but we kept doors and windows open with lights off until bedtime. The table fan helped alot!

United KingdomNo complaints it’s a shepherd top to expect it to be small. Only grip is somehow maybe there could’ve been a better fridge but not sure how.
The location was excellent nice walk and Pub straight from your door

United KingdomThe fridge is on the smaller side – more like a drinks fridge – so just something to bear in mind when packing your food and drink. It hardly impacted our stay though, and everything else more than made up for it.
Such a great little spot for a weekend escape in a glorious location. The hut is compact but has everything you need – a comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, and it was clean. We loved having the BBQ, and parking was super easy. Even with so much to explore in the Cotswolds, we found ourselves not wanting to leave the hut! We’d definitely come back.

United KingdomFantastic location in the Slad Valley surrounded by beautuful views. Tranquil and calm and a daily visit from a deer not frightened by us being there. Great pub in the village (Woolpack Inn) with top quality food and great service. On the Laurie Lee Way walk too so could do a circular walk right from the hut. Highly recommend for a short break, away from it all.

United KingdomIf we had to be picky it could do with a Parasol outside for those sunny days - we luckily saw the forecast and actually brought one with us, we definitely would have struggled to sit outside comfortably. The electric fence that everyone talks about was switched off when we were there (and I double checked first) but I could see it would have been horrible with our young dog if it had been on! I know it would probably cost a lot but a proper fence all the way around to make it dog getting out proof would have made this place actually perfect!
We loved this little space! It’s in a fantastic location with beautiful views and is very peaceful 😌 The bed was SO comfortable (and I’m very picky) The Hut has everything you could think of - every time I thought of something it was there, it was hot when we stayed and there was a fan - I forgot my hair dryer and there was one! From TV (we actually didn’t use) to excellent wifi and also usb ports. A great gas barbecue - a lovely little en suite with a shower as well. Sophie was attentive to all my questions too - We loved it!

United KingdomWe arrived in the dark and the hut was quite hard to find - the what3words for the car parking spot is slot.forklift.grudge so hopefully this is helpful to someone else! We also couldn’t get the microwave to work but wasn’t really a big deal.
The hut is in the most idyllic location looking over fields and hills it really felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The hut was very comfortable, the bed was comfy and the duvet was so warm, when we put the fire on it kept the hut warm for a long time. We ate at the Woolpack pub and did the circular walk through Painswick which was a great long walk to fill the day, very much enjoyed coming back to the cosy hut after and sitting outside with a cup of tea!

United KingdomDVD player didn’t work as stated on facilities and with no WiFi it would be useful in bad weather - we bought one especially and couldn’t watch it. Also a washing up sponge would have been helpful, hard to get stuff clean with just a cloth.
The space is carefully designed so every inch is well used. The bed is comfy and the shower is hot. The location is so peaceful with lots of birds, squirrels and butterflies to watch. We did the Laurie Lee walking trail as per map provided in the hut. We went for dinner at the Woolpack which was very expensive and menu was a bit fussy - Check before you book.

United Kingdomthese are only small things and not a criticism, the door window needed a blind over it as it was really bright on a summer’s morning, we hung a towel over it as it made us wake early. Also the outside would be useful if it had some veranda to sit under whilst it rained and it would be more a useable space then. My only niggle would be on the Monday morning we were woken up by the builders on the site down the hill building a new house. A few trucks and wagons and a constant bleeping, but once up and dress we went walking and avoided the noise. it can’t be helped but just be mindful of that.
it was just what we needed, it had everything there for us and the Gas BBQ was really useful as it saved us cooking in it as it is quite small, but for two nights it was perfect. the Laurie Lee walk was great and the pub in the village was just ok but useful for a drink after a walk. The location was ideal for us.
