If you don't drive it's a taxi ride from Gloucester costing about £25 but I think that's pretty reasonable.

Perfect place for meditation 🧘‍♂️ and getting back to nature. You can have complete silence if you want it and is great for energy healing.

Nothing we didn't like

Loved this cosy hut which was well equipped and very clean. Lovely decor and nice welcome pack, even provided local takeaway menus if you didn't want to cook. Well stocked with wood for the firepit and charcoal for the bbq. Lovely, comfy chairs to sit outside and relax and enjoy the peacefullness of the countryside, with just the sheep and cows for company. If you want to relax this is the place, if you want a base to explore the same.

Leaving after a wonderful stay…

The hut is amazing through and through! When we booked, we were a little unsure of the way it would actually be. My greatest concerns were tidiness, the bug, or better said, the spider situation, the storageroom we would have for our luggage. That’s why we only booked four nights in the beginning. As soon as we arrived though, everything was perfect. It’s exceptionally tidy and clean! The hut ist very well kept, has a modern kitchen built in, supplied with plates, cutlery, pans, a toaster, everything you might need. The bed was super comfy and big enough for two. I loved the bathroom. It was clean, spacious and overall exceeded all expectations. We were provided with enough firewood to keep us warm, charcoal to fire up a barbecue. The sheep are a truly calming sight to see in the evenings. The only times they got a little bit louder was at feeding times, but it was a fun sight as well. It is absolutely beautiful there, so we decided to extend our stay. Sam made it very easy and took great care of us. We were always offered more firewood, fresh towels and honestly just anything we might need. Oh and the spider situation was not a situation at all! Although it’s very close proximity to fields and woods, we didn’t have any big spiders come visit us. What a pleasant stay. We are definitely coming back!

The fire alarm is above the bed and the light coming off it is quite bright during the night. Also, I recommend taking ear plugs. The cows and sheep like to make a lot of noise early morning, which was a great experience to see/hear but also disruptive to sleep.

Absolutely loved our stay in this shepherd's hut. Beautiful inside and out. We were very lucky to have a night of really good weather and did a bit of star gazing and plane spotting with the fire pit lit - perfect evening! The hut itself is amazing - comfortable king sized bed, great sized bathroom and everything you need in the kitchen. The view from the hut is stunning - what a view to wake up to! Being on a working farm it was great to see the sheep and cows around. Also loved our visits from Betty, the owners little dog - what a cutie! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay! Would highly recommend!

Our stay at the sheperds hut was absolutely wonderful, perfect in every way. The host were very friendly and helpful, the hut was very clean and tidy. Its a very comfortable at night and the surroundings are very peaceful, perfect for a peaceful getaway. We are most definitely going to go back. Would highly recommend 👌
