It was very clean. There were locks on the doors and windows, but you could still open the windows. I had a fabulous view of the harbor.

As it’s a very old building I’m sure there are restrictions to what can be done which meant the bathroom was very small however the fittings looked new and worked well

Absolutely nothing.

The location of this quaint and comfortable stay was difficult to leave. Our room was well maintained and comfortable with a lovely offering of treats to go with our coffee or tea. Upstairs the kitchen area provided even more offerings for breakfast and a lovely dining room and sitting room. Our host was readily available and helpful as well. Above all it is the location that feels like a step back in time to quieter and more peaceful times that creates a serene stay at this wonderful establishment.

This was second visit to property. First visit with new owners. Very comfortable room. Liked the leisurely breakfast choice. Location was good and there is plenty local places to eat. I would thoroughly recommend this property to other visitors to the area.

The guesthouse is located at the old harbor pier, just in the way to the Dunnotar Castle!! Unbeatable place and an excellent landlord serving us a great breakfast.

The room was stuffy and a bit cramped so that the bathroom door bonked into the bedside, but somehow didn't feel overly compact. It would be helpful to have a fan.

thoughtful attention to detail that went above and beyond most similar guesthouses, for example filtered water and use of the fridge and kitchen. Friendly host who was very accommodating. The soundproofing is quite good in this inn as well. We stayed in the last available room just beside the kitchen and across from the dining room and the sound considering the location were quite muted. A less light sleeper than me would be fine in this room. Lovely decor and toiletries. Lovely building too, and well situated for walking and dining. Beautiful views of the harbor. Parking is easily available though you do park right beside the drop off into the harbor which is easier to manage than it sounds.

Paul met us on arrival and showed us around. The views at the front of the building of Stonehaven harbour and the sea are stunning and well worth the stay. Harbour front hotels and dining facilities all around.

Nothing, really. There's nothing to not like.

Wonderful property. Our room was superb, pristine and comfortable. And pretty quiet, considering it was facing the street. The location can't be beaten.The continental self-service breakfast from the kitchen provided plenty of options. Paul was a good host, congenial yet not omnipresent. Nice walk to Dunnotar Castle.

It was wonderful!

Shorehead Guesthouse was in the perfect location on Stonehaven Harbor. Paul was very helpful and gracious. Our room was lovely. Breakfast was basically a do it yourself operation in a very well equipped kitchen. We truly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.
