How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room 5 was above the reception area and at the top of the stairs to the other guest rooms, so it was noisy. If you want a quiet room, I would recommend you avoid this room.
The location was beautiful, the room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was outstanding. There is a lovely cafe and shop next to the hotel, bordering the river. Well worth a visit.

It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were all so very friendly. The breakfast was excellent, was made to order, and arrived in good time.

absolutely nothing.
From the minute I walked into this hotel I could feel the warmth of the staff. Joe and Ness have hospitality off to a fine art. Nothing was too much trouble to sort and their whole ethos is the customer comes first. The breakfast was a great to start to a days trekking and very varied. The evening meals were superb. I really cannot praise this hotel enough and recommend it to any and everyone. The additional back up staff of Katy G and Gav make up a very strong and energetic team that is managed superbly by BOB the manager and I for one will be returning soon. Thanks guys for a wonderful stay. x

TV was on the window sil, so couldn't have the curtains shut when watching it. Only 1 set of plug sockets beside the bed (not on both sides)

Needs to be refurbished. There was a leak and the carpet near the toilets were wet and it smelled like damp but beds were comfortable and amenities in the room and toilets very clean

Wonderful location with easy access to all the passes, for motorbike exploring! The hotel was clean, room great and staff super friendly. We wanted to leave early one morning and they gave us a packed lunch instead of the breakfast we had already paid for. Nothing was too much, we would stay again. Thank you!

The only thing that disappointed me was the shower in our room...... hardly any pressure.
The staff are incredibly attentive, warm and friendly. The evening meal was outstanding. THEY LOVE DOGS !!! Even have dog dinners and ice cream 😁😁

Room was a bit tight, and slightly dated. Small double bed and big TV on windowsill blocking views.
Fabulous location, very unspoilt. Very friendly staff, exceptionally helpful. Fitted our family of 6 in for dinner at short notice as our daughter’s car broke down. Good pub food, exceptionally steak and ale pie!

Understand the age of the hotel but the room felt worn, chipped paint old wallpaper. Shower and bathroom the same.
Dog friendly, staff exceptional friendly courteous helpful. Clean but needs a bit of TLC. Great breakfast. Great beers Fantastic location.

The pool table is great for evening entertainment but had a tear in the cloth that needs repairing.
Great breakfast, traditional meal in the adjoining pub; The Talbot. The Romanian waiter was a real character whose personality enhanced our experience.

Our room was adjacent to the extractor fan for the kitchen, it stopped at about 9.00pm.
The staff were extremely friendly/cheerful and hardworking. The breakfast was plentiful and lovely. Convenient parking. Great location.
