Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSomeone was using the locker that was supposed to be mine, in fact all of the lockers in the room were being used. It’ll be better if the staff makes that clear for travellers. Staff gave me different locker outside the room so at least they were super friendly and able to solve the problem :)
Loved the staff, they were helpful. There’s a kitchen where you can cook whatever you want, a nice seating area for eating and the location is grand. Tesco, Coffee shop and Tube Station just around the corner.

NetherlandsI switched from a dorm to a private room after 2 nights because it was wayyy to hot in the dorm where we slept with 9 women. - Dorm was very small - No shelf to put your stuff - Beds were to small (I'm 169cm and touched the end with my feet) - Room was to hot - Bathroom was to small (also in the private room)
The private room was a good experience and I would rate that room a 7 or 8. - The rooms had fans - Private room had bigger bed - Your own bathroom and toilet

Great location relatively clean and the facilities were amazing. The shower in the rooms are a little small but the showers down in the basement were amazing.

United KingdomThe bed I was assigned was slightly too small for me (6'1), and it was a bit of a task to climb up to the top bunk. Also very hot in the room despite the fans that had been set up.
Very easy process to check in and pay for extras, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Got what I paid for I think!

United KingdomIf we get the top tier bed, we need to be very careful as a slip might result in to injuries. Too high. If possible padding needs to be provided on steps.
✔️ Affordable prices ✔️ Convenient location ✔️ Co-operative staff ✔️ Comfortable bedding ✔️ Clean toilets Unique shower head with thermocol in it 😄

IrelandNothing except the heat which they are clearly trying to ease for everyone with multiple fans.
Great hostel, was a little worried because of some of the reviews but besides the heat which they can’t help we had a great time there. There’s a few fans in the room to try help circulate some air but was hard to sleep. Kitchen is clean, bathroom and the overall hostel smells great all the time, there’s a speaker playing music in the showers lowly which was nice and they were newly renovated by the looks of it, no queues and there was always a bathroom free out of the 6 outside our room. Stayed in a mixed 12 bedroom dorm and everyone was friendly and didn’t go near anyone’s stuff. Would definitely stay again but maybe when there’s not a heatwave. Staff were also very friendly. Air conditioning in the main common area if you want to cool off and grab a snack out of the vending machine during the night which was very affordable with tasty snacks.

ChileI got a room in the basement, which is like a maze with many rooms. It's very confined and hot despite having a window and three fans running all night. So, I don't recommend it if you're claustrophobic.
Good location and good breakfast for a reasonable price. It's fine for a night or two.

PortugalThe rooms for many people do not have air conditioning, not below street level so in summer the heat is unbearable. There is a fan but it has no effect, it has carpet and the smell due to lack of circulation is very strong. There are few bathrooms for the number of guests in the hostel.
Good location and beneficiary cost.

Portugal-Private bathroom cold shower isn't working. Only boiling hot water is available which many people want to shower cold water in August. I was told that it's working but even other guest couldn't use it. So instead going back and forth to report the issue over and over, I just took shower at thr 1st floor - yes, 1st floor and I was at the 3rd floor. -It does't help as well that one of the guest has bad armpit smell, so his smells were left inside the room and the bathroom. -Room isn't recommendable for summer. After you're tired the whole day and sweating sightseeing, the room is hot. Windows cannot open though there was "ventilation" that didn't help. -The electic fan didn't help either. It was facing the toilet door so I need to put my luggage (as in the pic) so it will be facing guest beds.
-Location, it's near Russel Square tube station and bus stops. -Near supermarket -24 hrs reception -Locker to drop your luggage when you arrive early

NorwayThe rooms were quite small and hot especially during the summer, but there was luckily multiple fans in the room. The bunk beds was quite small and it was hard so sit upright in them.
The location was great, with a walking distance to multiple underground stations. The common areas was spacious and offered a great kitchen

ArgentinaThe beds are not high enough you can’t sit on the bed because you wouldn’t fit properly. The kitchen doesn’t have enough plates, cutlery and glasses, if you don’t al start cooking early you wouldn’t have any cooking utensils
I liked the location, the size of the common areas, how clean and tidy it was, and the vibe

UkraineThe fan was too noisy so it was turned off. Earplugs didn't help with that. And the room was right aside stairs and the door would slam all night, though earplugs help with this.
Location is great, very close to both rail stations, and to most of the places you might want to go to. The room is nice and cozy, though there wasn't enough of fresh air. Private bathroom is a huge plus. Complimentary earplugs were nice to find.

FranceBunk beds with 3 beds is just too much. I was on the top bunk bed and I don't have vertigo but it was still unpleasant. The bathroom is tiny with just the shower, you have to use the mirror and sink from the toilets...
The location is everything, to be honest. So close to the train station (St Pancras, King's Cross), there's a Pret A Manger just down the street, and the lovely park of Russell Square. It's easy to reach the city centre by walking, and it's something I definitely appreciate.
