Super evening meal, excellent breakfast, very comfy room, great internet in the room. Super meal service and wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Great location for a stopover heading south or north on the way to or from the West coast. or the Highlands. Would definitely recommend.

Couldn’t walk to a paper shop before breakfast (I am a bit of a ‘saddo’though)

Large car park, sky tv in bedroom, scrambled eggs, friendliness of staff, ideal location for a stopover on the way to Scotland, large beer garden, bowl of chips with a pint (we had eaten on the way) - could go on.

Warm welcoming staff and so dog friendly. Rooms spotless. We had food in the evening which was delicious. Breakfast plentiful and tasty. My Grandson had the pancakes which he loved.

Perfect stay with wonderful staff and delicious food. This wee hidden gem far exceeded our expectations. A fabulous bar, and cosy dining area, along with a great beer garden. We ordered some food which was delicious, along with two lovingly made cocktails. A very comfy nights sleep, and a delicious breakfast to follow! The service was perfect, staff all so friendly and efficient, they never stopped. We will be back.

We'd have liked a second bedside table and a non-slip shower mat - the base of our shower was very slippery.

The Smiddy Haugh has been a great favourite for many years. It's comfortable, friendly and relaxed , and is extremely well situated only minutes away from the A9.Richard and Niki are great hosts - very helpful and obliging. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our excellent breakfast.

Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable. Lovely bar area for drinks and food, nice atmosphere . The food was very tasty and extremely competitively priced. The staff and owners were really nice and helpful. Great ‘beer’ garden and plenty of parking at the rear of the property.

We stayed at the Smiddy as we were booked for dinner at Gleneagles Hotel. The Smiddy was amazing. Such a great find and although we didn't eat there will defo be returning to eat.

An authentic unique hotel. Beautifully restored and spotlessly clean. Car parking at the rear . Pub with excellent food served . Nicky was amazing, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Excellent breakfast. Great value would definitely return

Absolutely brilliant wee spot. The staff, including the two owners, could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The beer garden is such a nice place to sit and unwind, perfect after a long day golfing, or sightseeing. Could not recommend this place more. I will be back.

Not much....there could have been more bathroom amenities, but that's getting picky!!

Excellent food, pleasant, helpful staff and we liked the dog friendly approach (although, having four dogs, we couldn't reasonably take advantage of that).

Nothing, literally everything was perfect.

The staff were friendly, smiley and so welcoming. They accommodated any requests and always had a friendly greeting. Drinks and food were top notch.

We stayed here Tuesday 24/06/25 with my friend's doggy, Dexter, and cannot high star this fabulous hotel up enough. Gorgeous place, fabulous food, great ale. Nicky and Mr. Nicky (I'm afraid I didn't catch Nicky's partner's name) are amazing hosts; super friendly, happy to help, and just lovely, lovely people in general. So welcoming to dogs, (our guest name and room was charged to Dexter 😁😁❤️, sadly, he didn't pay, though. We did 😁) and keep those peepers peeled for the photos of puppers past and present all around the bar. If you're really lucky you'll meet gentleman Jasper, the doggy landlord and beer thief extraordinaire, and the gorgeous Suicide Sophie ❤️ Lovely beer garden, fabulous food, welcoming, friendly staff, and a possible haunted bar. What more does anyone need? 11/10 ❤️
