United StatesBe prepared to climb stairs or request first floor room. No dinner meal service onsite. There are some options close by proved by the hotel.
Great breakfast, adequate parking, although it feels remote it’s a short drive to almost everything. Rooms were dated but adequate. Owners were very friendly, offered ideas.

The hotel staff was nice and welcoming, the chamber was clean and comfortable. There was a parking lot in the back and the breakfast was ok.

The location was perfect. The facilities were clean and staff was exceptional. We had an issue with one of our rooms. The staff quickly resolved the issue and privided us another room. In addition they refunded one of our nights stay. There is a free breakfast in the morning. However, at the time of our stay there was no dinner service. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

United StatesDounby is a bit remote from any restaurants so we did have to drive 10-15 minutes to the Standing Stones Hotel for dinner. The Smithfield is equipped with a restaurant and public bar however we were informed it has been closed due to lack of staffing.
Generous and Comfortable room with newer furnishings. Best shower in Scotland so far….great water pressure and easy to regulate the temperature. We even had a walk in closet in room #10. Ivy and her daughter were welcoming hosts and we were sorry to arrive later than anticipated. Great full Scottish breakfast with fruits, yogurt, cereal and filtered coffee too! And nice guests and conversation! An Asda Express is across the street if you need anything.
