Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThis is the most amazing place, wonderfully quiet, so relaxing. Perfect for any children (or adults) who love to be outdoors or adults wanting to curl up with a glass of wine, a good book and amazing views. The host is incredibly generous with her time, letting the kids feed lambs and collect eggs. An absolute joy!

United KingdomThere were one or two kitchen implements that we could have done with but nothing that couldn't be managed without. Can't fault anything really!
Location was lovely. Peaceful and lovely views (even from the bath!) across paddocks with horses and visiting wild deer. Garden visitors included rabbits and squirrels. Beds were super comfy. The whole house was spotlessly clean. My daughter was thrilled to find a whole chocolate cake waiting on arrival (I'm coeliac so couldn't share unfortunately) and said it was delicious. There was tea, coffee and fresh milk provided too. Very welcome after a journey round the M25! We weren't disturbed at any time but everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.

BelgiumWe are not used to the heat system that you use, maybe just leave a few explanations for how to manage it when we leave (for people like us :D) But everything was great!
It's a lovely cottage, very welcoming, lovely decorated, really peaceful. The bedding and living room are so comfy. We stay there for Christmas and the cottage was decorated with a tree! We really appreciated this attention! We appreciated the quiet, the nature around us and kids fell in love with the herds of deer running in the grassland each morning. The cottage is ideally situated near Frant Station, where we took a train for London! Our kids doesn't wanted to leave this beautiful place. Thank you Mops for the delicious cupcakes and your warm welcome.

NetherlandsIt was such a lovely place if your looking for a countryside experience. The cottage is very comfortable with beautiful views. Outside you can walk straight up into the forest and meadows. We've seen deer and a fox. The deer come up to the meadow behind the cottage, so you can even just watch them from the cottage itself sometimes. It's a beautiful area as well. We really enjoyed our evening meal at the Lazy Fox pub as was recommended by our host.

United KingdomThe property was a little difficult to find once off the main road.
The location was excellent, we overlooked a paddock that had horses and on one day a herd of deer. The garden had squirrels and field mice, great for nature lovers. It was really quiet and peaceful just right for a relaxing break.

United KingdomA perfect combination of a beautiful location, close to amenities but wonderfully peaceful, a welcoming and friendly host and a well-equipped cottage which felt spacious yet cosy. I wish we had been able to stay for longer! We saw a large herd of deer in the fields near the cottage when returning from a wedding in Tunbridge Wells & a vole in the garden on our last morning there.
