How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe lodge was quirky and cosy and very charming for our 5 and 7 year old with good equipment in it for entertainment and in the kitchen.. The setting was in a beautiful area of Wales that we haven't been to before.
Unfortunately there were a few issues that impacted on the enjoyment of the holiday at the start with the lodge not having been adequately cleaned on arrival and dirty bedding still being in the property with the beds not made as the booking information had stated they would be. Then we found out that there was not enough clean bedding spare to make the beds up ourselves. After a long journey, it was disheartening for this to be our first impression . The owner was very understanding and apologetic though when we sought advice on what to do directly and we could tell it must have been disheartening for her too given that she had expected everything would be sorted for us and with her living out of area. We think there must have been a glitch somewhere along the line with the cleaning contractors and handover processes relating to the property. The bedding that we purchased from the local supermarket that evening was reimbursed and attempts were made to recontact the cleaners to complete the cleaning that was required which they did to an extent although we felt a bit uncomfortable and still had to do some further cleaning ourselves and they weren't able to clean the cobwebs from the outside of the property. The football table that doubled up as a dining table was a nice touch but a bit on the high side for sitting round for meals. In terms of the facilities it was quite confusing at the time of booking and on arrival which facilities were included or not on site and the facilties passes system at Haven is very confusing and expensive. These couldn't be purchased until arrival so we couldn't plan ahead. We would have loved to have gone swimming just for one day but there was no option to do this unless a 3 or 7 night pass was purchased so we ended up not doing this or spending much time on the site.

Verified reviewFab location for us to go off and do activities. The haven park was a nice park with good amenities although the passes are expensive. The lodge had lots of little extras that were nice - like tea and coffee/ washing up liquid/ games and Wii for the kids. The owners were very quick to deal with any queries. The lodge is very cosy.
The dining table which is also a table football (great for the kids!) was a little high for the stools/ bench but I understand the owner is looking to change this. Not much else to dislike.

Verified reviewThe property has plenty of plates, knives, forks, cooking utensils, pots and pans, lovely little deck with table and chairs for when the sunshines. There’s a DVD player and a Wii. The WiFi so so poor, in fact it was non-existent throughout. It wasn’t communicated that there was an issue with the signal but it was easy to work out! We weren’t desperate for the WiFi however on the wetter days it would’ve come in handy. There’s an air fryer which came in handy and the lodge is at end of the site so nice and quiet. Only a 10 minute walk to the centre. Great little place for a short break.
There wasn’t much not to like.

Verified reviewWe never stay in a Lodges like this before so it was the experience
We'll for the price we were paying we expected a at least 4 or 5 star accommodation, sofa was so bad it gave us rashes , bathroom shower head won't stay up , bathroom floors all coming apart , cop-web all over wall ,even cheap hotel provided towel ,never mind us paying £200 a night here and no fresh towels , a deep freeze would have help for family who can't afford to eat out , All necessary information was not forwarded to us into 2day later
Thank you for your recent feedback. We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. I am unsure of the issue with the sofa, as nothing has been reported to us previously. With regards to the shower I was not aware there was an issue, however if you had contacted me I would have happily arranged for maintenance to repair during your stay. It has been reported after your stay and has since be fixed. Apologise for the delay in communication, you booked 5 days prior to arrival (4 nights stay) and requested information was delayed and I was on holiday. The bathroom floor we have had issues, but we have arranged to have replaced but awaiting fitting date. Sorry for any issues this caused during your stay. I believe we discussed the freezer options prior to your stay, I spoke to you while on holiday and explained what freezer was available and the option of shop on park etc and then sent standard email on arrival day.

Verified reviewThe location was amazing and the hosts were accommodating with the check in time.
The accommodation was tired/needs modernising and we were not informed of the extra cost to access facilities at the Haven site. It would have been significantly cheaper to have booked a caravan through Haven which then gave access to the facilities. Now that would have been fine if the accommodation offered privately was so much superior and we had been informed of the extra cost to access the swimming pool, but this was not the case.

Verified reviewThere were lots of places to eat and entertainment for the children. Our lodge was clean and tidy and spacious with the single beds upstairs. The owner was very nice and brought us some chocolates and wine. We really enjoyed our stay 😀. Thank you
Some of the prices were a bit steep for some of the kids' activities.

Verified reviewLovely cosy lodge at back of park so nice and quiet and just 5 mins walk to the facilities
Spiral stairs with small children and no safety gate. Found after booking that the double room is down stairs which meant the children were upstairs and I felt really nervous about them getting out of bed in night and nothing to stop them falling down stairs There were also quite a few bugs and could of done with a deep clean as I think wee were 1st guests staying since last year
