Lovely cottage with stylish and artistic interior. Really comfy bed and great shower. We loved the heated floor in the bathroom and the woodburner. Peaceful location and beautiful countryside with lots of walking. Autumn is a perfect time to stay here.

A beautiful house in a wonderful landscape. Hannah and Ross are Super Hosts. Ross turned on the fireplace when we arrived - perfect! They are always available for tips and help. The house is a bit remote but perfect for excursions and to relax. The equipment is very good.

Nothing , we loved it .

Very comfortable clean cottage ( stone barn ) on a rural property . If you want out of the way , peaceful getaway from it all, this is the spot . Located on a property which includes the main house and one other residence , however the cottage /barn is private , people wont be looking in your window . If you want walking access to supplies and a village, keep scrolling . For us it was perfect , a chance to chill and relax . The cottage is lovely , wood fire if you need, centrally heated also . Everything you would need in the kitchen . Clean ,roomy . Very comfy bed . Clear instructions on how to get to cottage , they worked perfectly . If you fancy a drive Forfar is about 20 minutes away . Do shop for provisions before you arrive Great inn about a 40 minute walk away if you like a stroll . The perfect get away from it all accommodation , we would book again .

    All was beautiful

Ross and Annah were really helpful and attentive to our every need. The cottage is in a lovely location, with wonderful views over the Scottish countryside, with a beautiful pond in the background and sheep in the distance. The cottage is stylishly furnished and functional. Ross welcomed us to find the fireplace already lit. Inside the property there is also a wonderful vegetable garden available for guests. Really recommended!

    Really nothing

Large, extremely well decorated house with lots of privacy. The fire place was already lit when we arrived to give it an instant warm welcome. The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming. It's a little challenging to find it at first so please stick to the given instructions and you'll be OK. Tip for future tenants to do your groceries already prior to arriving as it is very remote (which is why you would like to stay here 😀). Views across the fields are amazing!

Local temporary closed road due to roadworks meant difficulty in locating track to property..

Great natural and tranquil setting. Fairly remote from civilisation. Stonehouse cottage is well kept, clean and modern. Owners provided good directions to property. Being entertained by the local wildlife !

Very nice barn conversion with a high spec finish. We loved the remote location as it was very peaceful but it was still easy to reach everywhere from St Andrews to Aberdeen. We would happily stay again when we’re next in the area.

A traditional stone cottage with a Scandi contemporary design. A rural and comfortable cottage with a very comfy and large double bed. Warm with central heating throughout, a roaring log fire with a plentiful supply of wood and underfloor bathroom heating! Beautiful surroundings with lots of countryside walks. Hosts were friendly and great communication.

The timings on the central heating could do with adjusting, but everything else fine

This cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious with everything you need for two. Keys in the door, the wood-burning stove was alight on our arrival and the warm welcome continued with a much appreciated freshly baked loaf of bread provided the following morning. This lovely, quiet location was convenient for Forfar and our excursions to St. Andrews, Braemar and the beaches of Montrose. We’d happily stay here again.

Some furniture showing it’s age, no microwave (cheap fix), small wardrobe (cheap fix), TV far too small, no need as they are so cheap now, far too many weeds outside entrance, (cheap fix), a few signs pointing towards destination as it’s off the beaten track (cheap fix).

There wasn’t any information about local amenities or walks etc although this was provided on request it would have been helpful to have some sort of folder with local knowledge of different walks, locations to visit etc There was insufficient storage for clothes that needed hanging so a rail or hooks would have been helpful. A bedside table rather than a stool woukd have been useful to put books, phone etc at night . The bed is relatively high and so the fact there wasn’t a table was a bit awkward. There was no welcome pack which was fine but maybe let guests know how rural the location is so they bring provisions with them. We are relatively local so worked it out but others from afar may not realise that. In the bathroom it would have helped to have shelves or shelves me sort of .”unit to store toiletries .

Beautiful rural location Modern scandi style deco Responsive friendly hosts Wood burner Comfy bed and mattress Modern and efficient shower
