Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesVery crowded. Shades for bed were not long enough to block out light, i.e. one foot too short. No electricity in the room for 2+ days, i.e. Saturday 8am to Monday 10am. Some reception were kind and helpful; others were curt and acted bothered by my questions. Key codes for hostel/ OASIS/ room had to be reset several times on my phone; in talking with other guests, I was not the only one with reset issues.
Breakfast was good,

IrelandThe only problem I had was not enough space between beds. It wasn't easy to roll out my locker from under the bed and fully open it. An extra 10 sm would solve the problem. I had to keep the cap of the locker in one hand while putting/taking out my suitcase in the other.
The location is perfect. Rooms were clean. Bed covers and mattresses were clean and comfortable. In general, the building is clean and well-maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly. I felt safe in the woman's part that was locked with app locks. I was pleased that in our room, the ladies were respectful to each other, and even if someone got up early or returned late, it wasn't noisy. The room was well furnished (mirrors, chairs, 2 tables).

CanadaThe bathroom was small only 2 very small sinks for the whole women’s area. The bathroom wasn’t too clean. The sinks were the push to activate the water for 10 seconds and then it stops which is very annoying. Your touching the dirty sink mid way washing you face to push the water back.
Female only side was nice, it was behind 2 password protected doors. The beds were clean and privacy screens were nice.

rooms ok, bathroom separate for female only which was nice. Beds was fine and had a curtain, which even though did go all the way to isolate helped a little.

UkraineVery tiny common place, no real kitchen, only kettle and microwave, but the only place where you can charge devices from a few USB since in your place over a bed only British sockets. There are no hooks for coats and no chairs in the room.
Location is excellent. 24/7 reception. Enough amount of toilets and showers on floors. Elevator is essential to reach upper floors. Bed is big and comfortable

PolandUSB charging didn't work this time, I tried also to plug in my cable in couple of vacant beds, didn't work either. Maybe now USB option doesn't work and only "actual" plug is needed, I didn't ask at the reception because of long queue there when I was leaving. Also I wasn't able to use my metal locker under the bed because the other bed is too close to mine.
It was my 2nd time, it was good, I actually like that there is almost no contact needed with employees thanks to the app, I prefer systems and messaging. Some girls were very annoyingly loud after midnight but it's about people not the hostel...

AustraliaThe entrance key was via an app .... not really the most reliable and it took a long time to get through each door because it had to bluetooth connect. Good idea but fairly average execution.
Bathroom was close to the room. 24hr access. Brightly lit entrance, and close to several small supermarkets. The women I shared the dorm with were lovely, and everyone was respectful.

ChinaCheck in was very inconvenient for guests. Not only you have to download an app but also you have to open door after door after door to get to the female dorm, like four or five doors with your luggage and phone already occupying your hands plus a few stairs up and down through the lane... I almost was gonna waste the 40+ pounds and left, absolutely hated opening door after door by clicking on the phone(oh also have to have the Bluetooth connected), first time seeing a place use the technology in such an inconvenient way and made the reception almost useless. Shower head somehow can make the whole shower room wet so that little bit of flat surface shown in the photos isn't gonna be dry.
Staff messaged back nicely and they also gave me a bottom bed as requested. Beds are clean and room is big enough that it doesn't feel like 14 people are in the room because bunk beds are spread into different corners of the room.

United KingdomNo matter how long I waited nor what position I put the dial on with the shower it never got above room temperature . You have to buy or take a padlock with you to keep belongings safe and the locker is a wire basket under your bed with the letter of your bed on it - sadly the bunk beds are so close together that the locker cant be fully opened so you end up pushing things through the gap or through the wire and if i can do that so could anyone wanting to steal - I never left anything valuable there. The staff there were pleasant enough but clearly really busy so I don't think I found out all the facilities. I was in the lift (which is very temperamental - but then they all are) coming down to leave before I spoke to a fellow traveler and found out there were washing machines and you can buy the powder for them at reception (which would have been so handy!!) and you can download an app which put the door code in for your - apparently there is a QR code near reception. These two facts would have been great to know. Likewise when the breakfast was supposed to be served etc. I booked the room with breakfast but the next morning when I went down I was told I had to get a "voucher" from reception. If you book with breakfast too please ask at reception for a voucher it just saves faffing about. I get the impression that things would have been a lot easier if there was an information source when you arrive so you know what to do and when and what was available. I am old and my hip doesn't always want to co-operate and this is stairs central - if you have any mobility issues at all this is not the place for you -as luck would have it I got a bottom bunk but I dread how I'd manage if I had been given a top one and I never found anywhere in the booking process that you'd make request. If you get a bottom bunk the curtains (which tbh only fit where they touch) don't go all the way around !
I'm a soft bed person so I was glad to get home - the beds are clean but are firm and you get one thin pillow If you like firm memory foam this is is for you. The bathrooms clean and have all the basics. You have to hire a towel if you don't bring your own and you get some money back but not the whole lot. The door lock system is a bit variable - especially the one just opposite reception- I never did get it to work! Breakfast was buffet style - I didnt' find out what the times were so I went down about 7.30 and there was no one there - but conversely no one stopped me. It looked like there was a facility for pancakes and toast (I think) and stuff but they weren't on when I was there but I might have been early as there were no staff around. I had an urgent work trip to London at very short notice so I booked this as I was only staying two nights, it was close to where I needed to be it was available at short notice. I would stay again if I had to - it has its use and its location is great. But given more time I would hunt about. The wifi was free and you didn't need a passcode but it was slow and limited and as I was in a room just next to the shop next door the Pret a Manger free wifi was a bit stronger and I could pick that up. The second morning I went to Pret for Breakfast because I felt so uncertain the first morning but that was my choice.

PolandIt seems that one bathroom for 2 (or 3) rooms it's not enough, I didn't have big problems with that because of my weird life schedule, but would be better to have more than one shower.
Beds are really sturdy and spacious, I haven't hit my head at all which is nice surprise for a hostel🤭 Area was clean and seems to be new (maybe because it was female only area, guys didn't spoil it). I liked the app for access to the hostel and room, despite complaints here in reviews there is no need to have your phone all the time, there are codes for doors you can use.

United KingdomWish they'd had physical keycards or keys to get in as the bluetooth app wasn't the easiest thing to use but you can just memorise a pin for most of the doors. Showers could have been slightly cleaner but they were still decent for a hostel.
