Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI had booked a room with a private bathroom, but the bathroom provided was on another floor
I stayed for 2 nights and was disappointed with my experience. I had booked a room with a private bathroom, but the bathroom provided was on another floor, which was very inconvenient. The carpet in the room was dirty, there was no fan, and the room was uncomfortably hot. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and even the TV was not connect to the internet. Overall, it was not the standard I expected for the price I paid.

United KingdomCouldn't access the room as the code didn't work. Spent 30 mins to 1 hour trying to find a way to contact someone as there is nobody at the property. When in the room, quite run down. Needs some general decor and maintenance. No working light in the bathroom with no extractor fan and no opening window. Main room window blinds are broken, so don't open. The pub downstairs (The Eden) is very nice but has nothing to do with the accommodation. There was music until 2am, which was really loud. Thank god we only had to stay 1 night post attending a concert as it isn't comfortable enough for a longer stay.
Quirky property that could be made to be really nice with a little effort. The location is great. Easy to get to from M25 and easy to get the train into central London.

United KingdomThe garden door/entry was just open to anyone & the main door was open so anyone could have walked in. In terms of safety the only thing that locked was your room. It wasn’t that clean & the blinds in our room were broken so had them half open The shower was ok but there was no light within the bathroom There was no one on sight to help at any time if needed
Was easy to get to / access via bus and train Good shops around the area

United KingdomThe entrance front door security lock was broken and out of order, and there was no hot water in the room, we had to use the communal shower, which was on a different floor. Speaking to the other guests, there has not been hot water for a few days. Advice to stay somewhere else if you want comfort.
Location was great, next to shops and transport. Parking was available at cost.

United KingdomBooked for 4 nights. The entrance to the hotel is not the easiest, up fire escape type stairs with a suitcase was difficult. The carpets are old and dirty- passages and bedrooms. Room 29 smelled of residual smoke when I arrived and it negatively affected me - closing up my chest and being unwell. Heating was off because obviously the room was being aired. I contacted Booking. com and with their help was moved 2 days later to another room 27, which was in reality too late. As the hotel is unstaffed after hours I wasn't able to reach anyone immediatley. Misleading information indicates that the private bathroom is diagonal which it was not. It is up 3 short flights of stairs. No wifi in bedroom 29. (Didn't try 27-given up by then). Managed to connect in foyer. Moved to room 27 -has a bathroom en suite, which was freezing. The basin didn't drain immediately as one used it, and in the very slow process of draining, gunk stuck in the plug floated around- ugh- it was disgusting. The shower water temperature didn't adjust and it was only blistering hot. I managed to shower by dipping in the water. It goes without saying that the shower didn't drain either, obviously overflowing on to the floor. Unfortunately there were additional aspects of the room that were unpleasant. Bed lumpy. Dirt on top of plug boxes. Cobwebs, one from a light bulb which got stuck to me so it is not there anymore! I actually could not stay there another night and left at 7pm a day before checkout. The hotel is not sound proof. While in 29, the room opposite had a couple that were intimate and it was noisy, from the sounds emanating from the room and the bumping of the bed on the wall. This went on for about 3 hours-then they left. So it leaves little to the imagination what the room was used for- don't care- but due to the lack of sound proofing as a guest in the hotel, I was exposed to it.
It is an attractive building in keeping with old England. The rooms with the original fire places are are lovely. Loved the dark and light blue coloured paint on the walls- most affective. Sheets and towels clean. Shower gel and hand soap provided. Also enjoyed the saftey of the locks on the room and the check in process- it was easy. Initially had room 29 with a private bathroom and I enjoyed the spacious and warm bathroom and warm shower. The hotel is excellently located, it was in esay walking distance to my work and with a bus station across the road, it was easy to get to my clients. The close proximity to my work is why I tried the hotel.

FranceCarpets are still marked and grubby. But inspite of money spent, the mattresses are still absolutely appalling. They are so bad that the springs hit you in the back when you lay on them. For heavens sake spend a few grand and do it properly!! The room [29] was supposed to have a private bathroom but as it turns out a) it wasn't en suite b) there was no detail in the room about where this bathroom was c) it wasn't private anyway (when I finally found it through 2 doors up the stairs). Someone else was using it at the time. 29 was supposed to be a double (photo attached). Really!! Not impressed. For c£80 I'll look elsewhere in future.
I rated them a 5/10 a year ago due to the fact that it was grubby and dirty. They've clearly spent money in the last year. The bedding was ironed and clean and they've invested in coding access to the hotel and the room. Location is good for Enfield Town
