The sink was a extremely small but I understand that space is limited and I could wash my face when I had a shower so it was okay.

Steve is so kind and friendly and helpful and helpful keeps the rooms so clean. He said if you want to book a room do it with him directly so he doesn't have to pay booking.com commission.

Without a car this would not have been the ideal location for amenities, however, most people would have factored that in before they book.

The breakfast was a disappointment and to my mind overpriced. It was too oily for me, would have been better if grilled rather than fried. Also, if all rooms were full parking could be a bit of a nightmare

We arrived early, but unsuccessfully tried to contact him for possible early (45mins) entry. Apart from that - everything went as smooth as clockwork, and Steve is a very good host.

Great location for us (travelling to Castle Donington), easy to find, very clean and comfortable, and Steve was very helpful giving us local advice and booking us into a nearby restaurant that he had recommended. And it was a very good restaurant!

Easy to locate by sat nav, met by Steve who showed me around the place upon arrival. Room was clean & bed was comfortable, bathroom, again, was clean with a powerful warm shower. Slept well throughout the night. Lovely breakfast cooked to order by the host. Within 25 minutes driving of Donington Park race circuit where I was heading. Parking outside property. Recommended, shall certainly return if in the area.

Friendly and helpful host, excellent breakfast. Really interesting local history and only 3 minute walk to fascinating Stoney Cove for wild water swimming and diving. (See videos on youtube).

We expected Steve’s place to be a B&B, but on arrival, we were advised that the tariff was bed only and the breakfast was extra. This meant that the final tariff was more consistent with what we have paid for higher graded stays. As it was later in the day, we really had no option other than to stay. The room was tiny with no space for a case, so it was open your case, take out what you need then close our cases and stand them at the foot of our single beds. Steve did have a top sheet, but I felt that when the beds were changed, the doona covers were not as they did not smell fresh. Overall, in spite of Steve making every effort to please, our room did require an update and price reassessment. His breakfast was tasty with plenty of variety. He is proud of his culinary skills. People also need to be aware that all beds are single beds.

Steve is a lovely friendly guy who made every effort to ensure our comfort. His mattress was ever so comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. His bathroom was very clean.
