Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomGreat location for multiple sites in Wiltshire. Owners very friendly. Property very basic but spotlessly clean and really good value. Options for restaurant limited locally but plenty of choice in the area.

United KingdomOn arrival after communication with the owners we arrived and was greeted by a man ( owner i assume ) in the bar telling us we had to pay £10 for early check in . ( I would like to point out in all our communication this was never advised previously. We explained we could come back as our visit was to see family that live in the village so check in was not imperative at that given time. The gentleman said no don't worry come on I will take you round. The next thing that deeply offended me was whilst walking to the room we asked how we get in the gate to park on the drive ( as we were not unpacking our car ) He said you cant park there , I said that on the advert for the property he listed it as able to park on the drive, with that he shouted at me " NO IT DIDN'T" then said don't tell lies . So I did not argue however below is a copy and paste from the property listing- Quote- The room is detached so privacy is high. The property has its own front door and the guests are welcome to park in the driveway. There are two cats and one dog all very friendly which might be encountered on the driveway but they never have access to the property. The Crown Inn serves food FRIDAY EVENINGS (6pm till 9pm) and SUNDAY LUNCHTIMES (12 till 2pm) ONLY. We have had some very interesting guests over the years and enjoy hearing about their adventures whether it be cycling along the canal bank long distance is all walking in the surrounding hills. The Crown Inn serves food FRIDAY EVENINGS (6pm till 9pm) and SUNDAY LUNCHTIMES (12 till 2pm) ONLY. I can honestly say that the property is more than adequate for the money , however customer service is severely lacking!! On that basis I would not recommend the property, unless you like being called a liar and shouted at!! There was no the customer is always right at all!! And as you can see quite clearly the insert from booking.com's listing I am no liar!!
The property is basic and clean and excellent value for money.

SloveniaWhat bothered me was that the outdoor staircase was full of cobwebs, so I didn’t know where to hold on.
We liked the place and the location. It is fairly new, it had all we needed for 2 nights. It was possible to park. It was clean, except for the outdoor staircase.

United KingdomThe room would have benefited from a larger television. Some little additional touches such as tissues and an additional pillow would have been appreciated.
We liked the separate access. The room is a good size even allowing for the roof slopes. It was clean and presentable. The area is fairly quiet although there is passing traffic.

United KingdomMy wife and I stayed here for one night whilst cycling the Kennet and Avon canal. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable, but we were only supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel. When I asked for another towel, the host said,'we only have two towels'. I suggest they add £5 to the price and go and buy two more towels.

South AfricaAs there is no food offered in the pub except on Fridays and Sundays, a suggestion would be to put a small fridge and microwave in the room so food can be kept cold or heated up.
