Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Excellent location and great communication. A lovely apartment with everything you could need, great kitchen and bathroom also. Lovely basket of treats and prosecco. Walking distance to the beach and shops etc and free parking.

Water came out of shower.

Couldnt fault anything.
The location, and the facilities that was provided within the accommodation. Clean and modern. Liked the smaller touches provided for guests in the kitchen, basket and Prosecco. Great stay. Thank you Steve.x

The heating was a bit tricky to regulate - we are used to a timed system that comes on and goes off on a schedule. No big deal as the flat was warm.
Nicely furnished and well-appointed flat in the centre of Woolacombe, 2 minutes from the amenities and the beach. But also quiet with private parking. A lovely hamper on arrival.

The only small downside was that our long-wheel base vehicle didn't fit in the available parking space. We were aware of this prior to arriving and the hosts were great at providing us information about alternative parking options
We loved our stay at Surfside. The property was very clean, warm and cosy and in a great location. The host was great at answering my questions ahead of our visit and left a generous welcome hamper, which was especially kind as we were only staying for two nights. The price was very reasonable given that it was the school holidays.

A heated towel rail would be helpful, but didn't spoil our stay at all.

It was probably cost a little more than we would have liked to spend but you are getting a top notch property in a central location with a parking space. Nb. If you like a soft pillow I would bring your own.
Clean, modern … everything felt new. Tasteful decoration and lots of space. Big walk in shower and outside showers for the wetsuits. The owners had left a hamper for us with milk, Prosecco, chocolate, crisps, juice, tea and coffee . There were all your essentials too, including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cloths etc. The property was central to everything in Woolacombe.

Amazing location with parking. Gorgeous, modern flat. Warm outside shower and surfboard/bodyboard store was great after beach. Shared washing line. Shared outside spaces/seating. Tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets provided. All eco friendly. Loved it!

Lovely apartment, excellent location and facilities. Particularly great to have a warm outdoor shower, when the apartment is this close to the beach you can just pop home to warm up!
