Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe shower/bath lever didn’t work so you could either have just a shower or a bath with the shower running at the same time. Not a big deal really.

United KingdomThe rooms were a bit warm. Only 1 room had a floor standing fan. I guess I could have asked for another but didnt.
Perfect location for us with free parking, which isn't available with many hotels in Canterbury. Breakfast was included and there was a variety of food. They cater for my coeliac daughter too.

United KingdomCar parking spaces are limited and small spaces. We were lucky to have a space for our stay..due to this issue we caught a bus to Whitstable and Herne Bay as didn't want to lose our space but would stay here again. Could hear people in other rooms but was only till bedtime. Shower over bath 🛁 was bit weak but a good tip to use shower after swimming in the changing area was fab 👌
Lovely place to stay Stayed in room 11 in the main building Breakfast buffet was good with alot of choice Staff very friendly Loved the free use of swimming pool which was free..so don't forget your swimwear like I did..a quick trip to the city soon sorted that 😀 Great location for walking to city..lots to see and do. Loved the little courtyard for sitting outside to relax.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a good location (within walking distance of all the sites, train and bus stations). The staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was small but sufficient for an early morning swim and the showers at the pool were very good.

AustraliaThe car park is tiny. There was one space left when we arrived but it was impossible for us to maneuver into. Reversing back out onto a busy main road was not ideal. We were recommended to park round the back on the street behind in a car park belonging to a car company. I found it stressful leaving the car in a place which was unsecured and out of sight. In the morning we found the car safe but we had been parked in. The spacious bathroom was lovely to look at but not as practical as we would have expected. The bath with hand shower had very little water pressure so took an age to fill enough to use. When the shower head was held high to rinse off, the water went cold. The soap dispenser was too far to reach from the bath. Not great for older residents like us. No lift though the staff member offered to help carry our luggage up. The room was on the front of the hotel on a busy, very noisy main road. The TV signal was very poor and constantly froze.
A lovely spacious room on the 2nd floor of this period hotel. Many features have been retained and clearly much thought has been given to the style and decor. I was impressed by the effort made to create a coordinated and contemporary feel. Our bathroom was huge and well appointed with a stand alone bath. The hotel has an indoor pool which looked lovely though we didn’t use it. The one member of staff who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a huge array of hot and cold items served as a buffet.
