Nothing. All expectations were met. If you are fussy, tv's were small but who comes here to stay in their room.

Fabulous pub and restaurant, with the most wonderful food. Rooms were comfortable, large bedroom. Great outdoor space and if you are lucky you will get good weather and see good music. Breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice. Great value and what a location in the Brecon Beacons.

We eat here one night. Although the food was perfectly edible, I think we were thinking it might have been a bit more special. We happened to have a room at the front of the property, next to the road. It was warm, so the windows were obviously open. This does then open up the room to sound from passing traffic. If you have ear plugs, this isn't too much of an issue, so a good idea to have them at hand.

The service we received here was excellent. We had an issue with the TV, two staff members managed to sort it out pretty well, certainly as much as the location allows. There's a generous amount of quality beers/ciders and wines. Inside is a nice place to spend some time. Breakfast was very nice, all served up promptly. Rooms were relatively well insulated from the pub below, but that wasn't a priority, we knew that's always a potential issue. There's a decent amount of parking at the rear, so we had no issues getting parked.

The lighting downstairs and in the stairway was very dark.

It was a gorgeous location with mountain/hillside views from the room. The room was very clean and beautifully designed. Could have been decorated recently as everything seemed fairly new. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening meal which was excellent quality food and delicious. Thank you very much.

When I originally booked I was just looking for somewhere to stay in the local area, and the pub looked beautiful so i booked one night. However upon arrival I was absolutely delighted to see the pub had an outside food venue selling burgers and chips, and a huge beer garden, partly covered, with a live acoustic set that night. We had booked for dinner and I can honestly say it was such a lovely meal. The selection of beers were very good and the staff were vert attentive. We had planned to go out venturing that day but as the facilities were so good we spent the entire day there! The room was comfortable and clean with everything could need. Breakfast was 10/10. I opted for the vegetarian sausages and they were the best sausages I have had in a long time. On top of all of this, less than a 10 min drive away is the most wonderful waterfall which was the cherry on top of a superb stay!

Small room and extremely small bathroom. I'm a big guy and struggling sitting on the toilet. Overcooked breakfast which was a shame as the quality of the products were good.

In room could smell food from kitchen extract fan. Poor quality of bed linen. Road noisy from 5am.

Breakfast was freshly cooked having made a choice the evening before. Good choice on dinner menu. Problem with shower was dealt with promptly.

Stayed at the Ancient Briton as it was close to a sports event. Easy to find, staff were welcoming, room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There was tea, coffee facilities, plenty of shower toiletries and soft fluffy white towels. We ate at the street food truck in the garden in the evening. Food was tasty. Breakfast in the morning was great. It was high quality produce and set us up for the day. Would definitely recommend a stay. We also managed a trip to henrhyd falls which was well worth a visit and only a few minutes drive from the hotel and a small trek down to the falls. The walk back up to the carpark was a little tougher

Absolutely nothing! Highly recommended!

Everything was brilliant!! Ahead of check-in I was greeted by a young lady who couldn’t have been more helpful. She was very welcoming, showed me to my room, suggested places I should visit and all round offered brilliant customer service, in addition she poured a perfect Guinness!!! The room was great, very comfortable and spacious, you couldn’t really ask for much more. Staff in the evening were excellent as was the food and at a fair price. The locals seemed nice and we chatted at the bar a while. I honestly couldn’t fault the place… The Ancient Briton was above my expectations and I will be returning soon!

Wonderful pub with excellent food and drinks. It was very hot inside while we were there, but you could take your drinks outside to a small park.

We booked a table for the restaurant we where sat down and give the menu and 2 or so minutes later was told the table is booked at 730 we felt like the other guests that where coming where more important than us at the time we noticed that this happened to all the other tables just a suggestion maybe tell people that it is a 2 Hour booking when they book apart from that it was excellent food

Heatwave time, so duvet way too much, just a sheet would have been good. Doors on ground floor are confusing - difficult to remember which of about seven doors to use!

Very convenient for Dan Yr Ogof caves. Very pleasant room. Pub for great food and breakfast. Quiet in the pub and on the road from 10pm.
