Finding it - could be better signage

Quirky, very tidy, good location

I’d booked two rooms in the hotel and requested they be near each other. When we arrived we were told we had one room in the hotel and one in Stuart house which was not on my confirmation from Booking.com. My daughter has epilepsy so I would worry about her being in a room 5 mins walk away from my husband myself. The person who booked us in was told we had requested rooms together but he said there was nothing that he could do about it. Consequently my husband had to stay in Stuart house and my daughter and I stayed in The Bell. Thus was inconvenient because of the suitcase plus other bags as we had a wedding to attend.

Lovely large room and well equipped bathroom. Fantastic meal in the evening and good selection at breakfast.

The staff were amazing. I had a meeting on the day of check out and they allowed me to remain in the room until after check out time so I could have privacy. The summer set menu was amazing value and extremely delicious. The breakfast was equally yummy and my eggs were cooked perfectly in the way I had requested. The room was perfect. The bed was soft enough to be comfy, but firm enough to support my back issues. The whole place was spotless.

It was a bit loud as there was a generator or fan (I think) out back that ran during daytime hours.

The Dormouse room while small (as advertised) had everything one would need and was very quaint. Breakfast was delicious.

We didn’t actually get into the bed due to the heat and the heavy quilt. We slept on top covered by towels. The weather took a turn and was boiling hot. The bed clothes need to reflect the weather conditions. But what was really annoying is that we could not find the remote control for the TV. We searched the whole room, even under the bed. We were passing through after a long drive and another long drive ahead of us and planned an early evening watching the days sport in our room. No TV working was an absolute downer for us. You’d think the person preparing the room would check that the remote was there; they didn’t, so the room did not offer what we paid for. We asked staff at the bar but no one sorted the problem. Other than that (and the heat)- a great wee place to stay.

The room was much larger than I anticipated and the decor is lovely. We were in Mole room in the house one flight up. The stairs are tight, but we have no problem with that. There was a fan which was very welcome as we arrived in 30 degree heat and the room was boiling hot. The room is clean and cute and comfortable, close to everything and has a great bathroom and shower.

Car park area was poorly organised and no space available so managed to park outside the pub itself. Would have preferred a room in the pub which is what you think you are getting at the time of booking.

Excellent location in the heart of Stow on the wold.

Wish there had been AC as weather was exceptionally hot and we were on 2nd floor. Access to room from parking lot was past much garbage and unswept pathway. Continental breakfast could have included some fruit.

Room was very small & a bit tired. It was in need of some maintenance as the blinds were broken & paint peeling off in a few areas. Our room was located immediately adjacent to the street so was a little noisy with pedestrians & vehicles passing by.

We stayed in Hedgehog room in Stuart House. Location superb, a couple of minutes walk to the centre. Dedicated car parking adjacent to Stuart House

Building within feet of a busy road. With windows open all night you had traffic noise in the morning. Very tight parking lot for just a few cars. Parking on street not far away

Room was a little small, pillows could of been a better quality, shower roof and shower fitting needed attention. Coffee machine not working at breakfast, only filter coffee available.

It was a late return for me from a wedding venue and I did feel a little uneasy entering the property through the side stairs although I understand this can’t be helped as the bar area would’ve been closed

Bedroom for one upstairs (fox room) was on an angle, so was the bed. Potentially rectified by adding something under bed legs to even it out.

Accommodation was up the road from check in (The Bell), located right on market square (Stuart House) - very central. Shower nice and wide, bedroom downstairs for 2 (otter room) had plenty of room to move.

I had a little trouble keeping the shower door shut, so that might need a bit of adjusting. Due to the position of my room relative to the main road, headlights would sometimes flash brightly into my room as cars went by, so for that room in particular, a set of blackout curtains would be wonderful.

Comfortable beds, spacious room, and all the amenities you could want! I would absolutely recommend this property.

We had a downstairs room and the people above were very noisy. We could hear them moving around until the early hours and were woken up today by hoovering.
