Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaOnly a fridge in room
Stayed in room 3 in the former coach house. Wooden beams and old bricks. Very clean, excellent bed. Tea and coffee and lovely bikkies. No fridge. John the manager got my breakfast early at 0800 so I could catch the train. Usually begins at 0830. Convenient location in centre of town. Pizza menu at night. But also bonus of delicious fish n chip shop, Mermaids, just two doors away and John let us eat in his garden with a lovely glass of wine. Wish I could have stayed more than one night Five mins to 801 bus stop to Stow and Bourton

New ZealandThe lighting in the bathroom could have been better, and the main food of pizza meant we ate out elsewhere a lot.
Breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was wonderful as was our room.

United StatesThere was nothing unlikable.
Excellent location, lovely rooms in old inn with tons of charm. Exposed brick walls. Thoughtful room amenities including earplugs and sleep masks as the inn is also a pub and beer garden. The live music playing when we arrived was exceptional and put us in the holiday mood for our trip. But the place became very quiet as the evening wore on and there was no need for earplugs! A very hearty and delicious breakfast came included with the stay.

CanadaThe Inn had live music in the garden on one of the days we were there; the musician was great! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was the best we had on our trip! Highly recommend.

United StatesWe arrived at 2:30, checkin is at 3, and our room was ready but the proprietor, for some unknown reason, would not let us check in. So they put our bags in our room and we went hiking. 3.5 hours later the pub was very busy and checkin became another wait. This was all unnecessary. It is a bit noisy from the pub below. It did quiet down after 10. Also, trying to get an afternoon nap someone brought dogs to the pub’s outdoor area and they barked for 2 hours. Not the inn’s fault, but certainly an annoyance. The pillows are too bulky and uncomfortable
The room is large, the bed is comfortable, and room is very clean with a great coffee maker. Location is great. Very good breakfast.

United KingdomNothing at all about the premises and staff etc, but they had music on Satutday night, a singer guitarist called Tex. Now - he was good, no question, but far to loud. I am a singer guitarist myself and no way would I subject customers ears to that level of decibels. I was happy to be able to sit outside!!
I have stayed here several times, love the converted rooms, well appointed spotlessly clean and awesome breakfast!

The lovely old Bell Inn is easily walk-able from the rail line. The room was lovely and very clean and the beds were cozy. The staff were lovely and friendly...and the morning breakfasts were delicious and made to order. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay again if traveling to the Moreton-in-Marsh area of the Cotswolds.

United StatesWe stayed in room one which was above the outdoor dining area and the view was delightful. But they had a live entertainer on Saturday night who kept us up longer than we had desired as international travelers who were experiencing jet lag.
The Bell Inn was a perfect stay for this mother/daughter duo who were looking for an adventuresome weekend in the Cotswolds. We enjoyed the authentic accommodations and delicious breakfast, which was both yogurt with fruits, nuts , fresh fruit, local condiments, coffee or tea, toast with local jam, as well as a full English breakfast or scrambled eggs and salmon. The staff was wonderful and accommodated everything we needed including leaving our luggage upon arrival and departure. The rooms, bathroom, and food were perfect.

United KingdomEvening menu very limited. Really cant think of anything else.
Room exceeded our expectations, was lovely. Beds were very soft for us but everyone to their own. The room was very big really nice and comfortable there were outside stairs to the room over the outside drinking area, although there was no load noise even late at night. Breakfast was first class but evenings the only thing on the menu was pizza on the one night we wanted a meal there. Staff were very obliging and as it was my partners 80th birthday i asked for something special and was really grateful for the lovely flowers in the box. This also added to the niceness of the room. I can really recommend this place to anyone.

United StatesRoom size was a tad cramped, but very functional. With the proximity of the beer garden it would have been very noisy if they'd had live music (thankfully they didn't!)
The Bell Inn was easily within walking distance of the train station, and right in the middle of the beautiful village of Moreton-in- Marsh. Our room was snug and cozy, part of the historic property, which includes a classic English pub. Breakfast was perfect and generous. The owner served our breakfast and shared information about the village.

AustraliaWe visited the Cotswolds for a few days and was seeking accommodation that was conveniently located to the train station at Moreton in Marsh. We chose correctly - the Bell Inn is extremely homely, our room was clean, spacious, well equipped with all the necessities. John the owner is always on hand to make you feel welcome - the fully cooked breakfast each morning was a great way to start our day exploring this amazing region. We were also fortunate to be staying on the weekend of the owners 10th anniversary celebrations...live music in the afternoon in the beer garden and courtyard and indoors in the evening...we had a fab time!
