Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe just thought the bathroom could do with some love. And the single bed could perhaps be a sofa bed to allow for more comfortable seating? No reflection on our stay though and we would stay again.
Beautifully furnished. Lovely garden to sit in.

United KingdomThere was no hand rail on the stairs which are steep. This was the only downside but is a significant safety issue that does need addressing.

United KingdomThere was nothing that we didn't like but there is just one thing that we would've changed , given the choice, and that would be to have either a two seater sofa/sofabed or two armchairs to sit on ,as one of us had to sit on the single bed whilst watching TV as there is only the one armchair. Other than that ,it was perfect 🙂
Great communication from the host , Camilla. Main house is beautiful and The Bothy is well equipped and very comfortable (the bed is just fabulous). We had awful weather (storm Darragh decided to arrive the same evening that we did lol) . Whilst it did spoil our plans of going out for lovely walks , we still had a super, relaxing break and actually enjoyed hunkering down in the warm and dry while listening to the rain hammering down and the wind blowing the proverbial hoolie outside. We would absolutely recommend a stay here. 🙂

United KingdomThe bathroom was down the stairs and there was no hand rail to hold on to going up or down the stairs, so you had to be very careful due to that.
The property was lovely and clean, the bed was really comfortable so got a good nights sleep.

United KingdomOnly one tiny thing which can't be helped it was a little chilly. We did stay mid October so its cold at the moment anyway. Took a short while to warm up but I'm always cold. The Bothy has 3 portable heaters so easily sorted really
We have stayed here before and it's just lovely. Clean, comfortable, huge bed and not cheap bedding. Pillows are fab. It has a sitting room area where you can also eat your meals at a table and big bedroom. Little kitchen which has everything you need and good size bathroom Our hosts are lovely friendly people and we shall definitely be staying there again. Waking up to huge green fields with cows and horses is just lovely. Great change of pace from our usual life

United KingdomGreat stay for a couple or if you don’t mind sharing a king-size bed with a friend. The small bed in the living space was great for lounging on in the day but probably not great as a second person’s bedroom.
Very comfortable, cosy annexe in a beautiful setting. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and were very knowledgeable about the area, highlighting great places to visit and eat. There was a great cafe and farm shop just next door which served delicious food but there was a small but well equipped kitchen in The Bothy too. Lovely part of the country to explore and even though we didn’t have the best weather we still had a great time and look forward to returning soon!

United KingdomNothing negative to say. Yes, the shower/loo is downstairs but it wasn't an issue.
A small and nicely presented property in a gorgeous setting. We were delighted to see that there was a chalk white horse on a hillside visible in the distance through the velux roof windows. Cows in the field next to the garden were so cute, asking for apples from the trees. Camilla was a lovely welcoming host, particularly when our arrival was delayed to a very late hour. Her enthusiasm for and knowledge of the area were infectious. This was a great base to go to Stonehenge, Avebury stone circle (Camilla's recommendation and she gave us ribbons to tie to the Tolkien Blessing Tree), Bath and we fell upon Caen Hill locks on the way back - four different examples of astonishing engineering. Marlborough is a must visit too. Bed was huge and I found it very comfy. There's a tv and we took our firestick so we could keep up with our regular shows. The lovely Honeystreet Mill Cafe which is next door served delicious food - we had breakfast there twice. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped for our needs - kettle, fridge and dishwasher. There was a microwave and hotplate should you want to cook. A little tip - take a bottle opener/corkscrew. Watching my husband try for over 5 minutes to open a cold beer using the garlic press as a makeshift opener was hilarious. I'm sure, had we asked, Camilla would've offered us a proper one. Nothing was too much trouble.

United KingdomThere was no hob in the kitchen, but on the plus side there is an oven and microwave.
Camilla was a fantastic host, always on hand to help for any queries and very keen to explain the local amenities. She's also very funny without even trying to be - great comic timing. The Bed was very big and comfy. The honeystreet cafe being practically on the doorstep as well as the Barge Inn which we'd heard about from friends.

United KingdomLayout a bit odd if you need more than one room or bed.
Camilla is lovely and a font of local knowledge - an absolutely fabulous host who really cares. A spectacular location in terms of beauty and space. Gorgeous views, garden access and local spaces for food (pub/ cafe/ farm shop literally on the doorstep) and walks .. canal, churches, white horse. Beds with fabulous mattresses ... which is what actually counts ... although I would say this is more a space for a couple to have a weekend away. We were 2 colleague/ friends and you'd want to be close. If you're in the small single bed in the 'living room' watch your knees as you turn over (i hit the wall in the night several times and I'm not overly large) or ask for it to be made up as a double for more comfort. Also the layout is a bit odd (other room has to walk through you and go downstairs to get to the loo at 2am!) The mattress and sheets etc are great quality, the shower is good and the towels are fabulously large and soft. I will likely stay here again - the energy is lovely.
